I don't know if this is the necessarily the thing that people post on here. but I've been wanting to update to 8.1 because as far as I can tell you can't update to win10 unless you have 7 or 8.1. Problem is I have a volume license that prevents me from updating to 8.1 Imgur Is there a way around this? I keep seeing sites advise contacting the system admin, and seeing as how this is a personal laptop, that doesn't seem to apply. My laptop is a Lenovo Y510P that I ordered straight off the Lenovo website.

Thank you so much to this thread for helping me. My wireless card was so bad and getting worse and thanks to this thread i was able to install a new one and my internet has been working better than ever. I just had one question though, I saw someone else ask about this but never saw an answer. I was flashing the EC and it only made it to 50% and then my laptop automatically rebooted. Is this normal? Is it something I should worry about? Should I just try and flash the EC again?

anyone know where a good place is to get replacement parts? The cover for my Ultrabay slot (the cd drive cover) had a piece break off into my harddrive i've been putting in the ultrabay. So I've just been taping it to my laptop but I would like to get it fixed. The Lenovo site seems odd and I'm worried I'll order the wrong part for too much money.

are you using a hub? have you tried different ports? I've heard when its in the 3.0 port it'll slow but in the 2.0 it will be better. Try checking to make sure your drivers are up to date as well

I have been playing most of my newer games pretty comfortably with the same card, but if you're really into getting the crispest version of a game, It is definitely worth the upgrade, I've seen the differences lately and have been thinking about doing it myself.

I am going to be joining the fray of people getting the 7260. I've tried so much trouble shooting with this thing. I never knew it would get so bad! I remember reading in the reviews that it was a bad card but I decided I really didn't need much out of my card just because of the type of user I am, and it had been okay-ish for the most part for as long as I've had this machine, and just recently the card had been in the toilet as far as speed goes. I've exhausted every other possibility i could think of and looked in every forum. So I'm ordering one off of amazon now, and I'll report back when I do the deed
