  1. Thank you very much! But I don't understand why they are missing.
  2. Very nice! Best example of water cooling on a notebook that I have seen online. Can't wait for more updates. I could see myself following this guide some day.
  3. Ahh ok, that isn't great. Can you please show me on the motherboard where you found those two places where the resistors are? I remember I spent hours looking for the PLL resistor and couldn't even find the place for it.
  4. Seems like this would work better if we could flash the full ME firmware as well. http://forum.techinferno.com/general-notebook-discussions/2091-lets-enable-overclocking-all-6-7-series-laptops.html
  5. I thought R194 would be marked on the motherboard, so I was just going to try and spot that resistor and then lift one leg and connect it to GND. I don't know how I will find out which side of the resistor to lift, but I expect that to become more clear when I find R194. But due to work, I wont be able to find time for this mod in the next week, so it may be a little while before I can report back.
  6. Sorry it seems that I was still only flashing the bios and not the whole image. Really there is nothing left for me to do except the hardware mod and then try FPTW.
  7. @svl7 using that tool in dos I think I have just dumped my current ME firmware, here it is attached. EDIT: I cant seem to open my dump with fitc. EDIT #2: I can open my full bios image with fitc and then I can see the ME region. EDIT #3: Well I just modded my bios using fitc to match the ME settings found in the m18x-r1 ME FW file. I think I will flash it now. Wish me luck. EDIT #4: Flashed my modded bios, no difference. Don't know if the ME firmware really changed or not. MYBACKUP.zip
  8. It's similar to the difference between a ford focus and subaru wrx, they both will get you to work, but one is much better in every way. I've owned many toshiba notebooks (currently I have a satellite P750), they are fine, but when you need real power you will find they can't keep up. Also you have very little access to most components unless you take the notebook apart completely. The chassis is usually poor quality, especially in the cheaper consumer models. Now I'm not saying alienware is the best you can get, but when you pay more you do usually get more.
  9. Nope I haven't tried the hardware mod yet, I was hoping that I could find a key combo to get by without needing the hardware mod. Looks like fptw64 can't read my FW because it wont dump it: Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7601] Copyright © 2009 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved. 10. When I try to flash the ME firmware part, it fails. Some error telling me that flashing the ME firmware is not supported by this bios. I don't know how to overcome this.
  11. Clevo provided AFUDOS to flash with, or am I missing something? I can flash the P170HM bios, but does that really give me the ME firmware from the P170HM? Because I can't change the Bclk with XTU (I can change other things like enable XMP profiles).
  12. Well I figure that with the P150HM, all we need to do is enable the flash descriptor and then flash the me firmware from the P170HM. As some may know, the P170HM bios and EC can be flashed onto the P150HM, that's what I am running right now. But the ME firmware will not flash, nothing I can do to flash it yet unless I go for the hardware mod. Still hoping someone will know a workaround using a simple key combo or something along those lines.
  13. I wouldn't mind trying this, but I can't enable the flash descriptor override on my P150HM. I hope someone does know and can share that info. Although it looks like I could do a hardware mod to enable the override, I think I see it on page 78 here: http://myeurocom.ru/u/service/4/file.pdf I think if I remove R194 and connect M E _ W E # to GND, it might enable the override. I would prefer an easier option.
  14. Thermaltake CL-W0052 Tide Water All in One VGA Liquid Cooling module | eBay Isn't that the same one?
  15. That is the same with mine, blank box, but I check the voltage with hardware mon.
  16. That's interesting, I have the same system and I use the latest version of MSI after burner with the latest drivers for the 7970m. I had "UnofficialOverclockingMode = 2" set in the cfg file for MSI after burner, to disable powerplay.
  17. I think this might be a mobo issue (but I haven't tried using another PSU). Or it could even be the MXM board as well. The reason I say that is because when I stress just the GPU (with atitool) it shouldn't use up all 180W from the PSU since the CPU isn't being stressed.
  18. Interesting how our specs are so similar (I have the 2630QM as well). What is your max temp for the GPU (at 1.1V) and CPU? BTW, thank you for confirming that the dell vbios works with our system.
  19. troid, which clevo do you have? If it's an HM, how is your HDMI?
  20. What happens if we flash the dell vbios?
  21. You're right, the vbios is from the Clevo P270WM isn't it? Kind of funny in a way.
  22. That's a good question, not that I use the HDMI output myself. Just in case slv7 doesn't know about the issue, basically the HDMI output doesn't work when the 7970m is installed into a clevo p1*0HM notebook. Oh and slv7 I will definitely look into some cooling mods when I get a chance. Right now it's stock except I put some copper tape over the area between the heatsink and fan just to keep the air from going through that small gap (foil tape mod).
  23. Just an update, tested 1.1v today. Got 1060mhz stable, but temps went from 85C max (with 1.075) to 94C. Not worth 30mhz to get such big jump in temps.
  24. 1.075V was enough to get me 1030mhz, I'll let it run overnight like that. Maybe tomorrow I'll try it at 1.1V. Depends on what the max temp will be after a few hours. Thank you svl7!
