  1. Never done it myself - but i am pretty sure you can. Just try to boot from and and see if windows installation starts.
  2. Cloud Atlas you mean ? I had a feeling that the movie doesn't make the book justice tbh.
  3. I actually wan't very impressed with Cloud Atlas. All i had to say once it was finished was "WTF?!?!" But i do have some friends who were very very excited by the movie, so maybe it's just me.
  4. @LSX Monster try again buddy, you should be fine now. It takes up to 1 hour to update your status to elite member.
  5. Try HWiNFO to control your fans, if it doesn't work out of the box, contact @Mumak (the author), in many cases he can enable fan control quite easily, depends on the machine really.
  6. Then you could try the unlocked A05 by svl7 (in first post). That's of course if you ARE looking for an unlocked bios...
  7. This is called blind flash, and should work regardless of windows version. All wincris does is make a bootable DOS usb drive, which can be accomplished by many tools (one such tool is the HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool), once that's done it's a matter of placing the bios file in the root of the usb drive, i am just not sure about the filename of the bios file (which you could share with us here please )
  8. yes, cable is highly doubtful since restart always resolves it. Drivers are the immediate suspect, but since you claim that same driver worked before, i start to think it could be your video card failing. I personally would start with a full system reinstall. If that doesn't help - look into hardware.
  9. Watched Django Unchained yesterday. Awesome movie! Tarantino did it again! Three hours flew by without me even noticing (which almost never happens).
  10. Hmmm... the single color / blinking might be the screen cable, but then it would not have been resolved by a restart. Could be the drivers you tired out. DId it happen since you rolled back to Dell official drivers ? OH, and welcome to T|I, you are definitely in the right place!
  11. Glad it's all sorted out. Shouldn't have happened in the first place but at least it's all good now.
  12. Thanks guys, I'll make sure he gets all that info! Although I am quite sure he will ignore all this and end up with the apple...
  13. The m4700 was actually the only laptop I did recommend him :-) Thanks Marco, I'll pass that info along to him, hope he comes to his senses. Doubt it though, he's really sold on the whole apple thing.
  14. would be interesting to test another exemplar of the same mouse to see if it's a localized problem.
  15. Hey all. A friend of mine, lets call him R, wants to drop > 3K$ on a mac book pro with retina display. I told him to wait a bit and let me consult the gurus from TI before he does. R's list of requirements : 14-15" Great Hi-Res screen Around 2 kg (that's around 4.5 pounds to the metrically challenged) Good CPU performance (no ultrabook CPUs) SSD Good battery life International warranty support Suggest away
  16. Real weird :-) Guess there isn't much you can do about it.. Is your wall plug grounded?
  17. Just kidding buddy, welcome to TI ;-)
  18. Nice guide bud! Way to make your fifth post count
  19. More details please. How did it happen exactly, what happens when you turn on the computer? Also, is it R4 as the subject says or R2 as the body says? If you want people to help please be more precise.
  20. All i know is that SG means Switchable Graphics, while PEG goes for dedicated Graphics. I guess each manufacturer implements the logic behind those choices differently though.
  21. what's the question exactly ?
  22. Tried completely uninstalling nvidia drivers and reinstalling them?
