  1. I thought it was odd too but have tried a 120HZ screen and a 2560x1600 screen, neither functions above 1080/60hz when connected to the laptop (HDMI, DVI or Displayport). Reseller has confirmed it is a chassis issue but doesnt clarify if its just the port or some other thingumabob.
  2. I have a P570wm running two 880m 8GB's, machine and gpu bioses flashed from whats available on here I discovered that the hdmi (1.4a) and DVI ports are limited to 1080p/60hz output, by the chassis according to the reseller (pcspecialist.co.uk) when I hooked it up to my 3d monitor. Am considering an Oculus Rift at some point, however, it runs 1080/1200 @ 90 on two screens... So in theory will fall over and not work due my laptops output restrictions. Does anyone know if its just the connectors and is curable/modable or am I on a hiding to nowhere? Maybe someone has a dev kit lying around to try it? Thanks guys. Edited to add..... Oculus has a compatibility checker tool.... Laptop fails the check on the basis that the TI USB 3 ports are apparently not compatible >.<
  3. In case anyone is interested or has the same issue.... They got back to me apologising for talking rubbish, there is no onboard.... which is what I said to them. Apparently a driver issue.
  4. Update..... my reseller contacted me today (pcspecialist.co.uk), they say all the outputs are controlled by the crappy intel on board graphics chip and basically even with two 880M GTX because of the onboard controlling outputs, 1080p 60HZ is the maximum.
  5. Prema mods are your laptops BIOS and scl7 are the GPU.... or thats how I understand it, I did my P570wm with both.
  6. Hey guys, I have a P570WM with dual 880M 8GB cards in SLI, laptop flashed with Prema Bios from here and the GPUS with SVL7's Bioses.... Today for the first time I hooked it up to my desktop screens.... One asus VG278H 120HZ 3d vision screen and a Dell WFP3007. A few issues... The asus detects fine and runs at 60HZ, if I force 120 the monitor complains about the cable (same cable as I have used with it in 120HZ on my desktop) and resets to 60HZ... so no 3d vision. On the Dell, its a 2560x1600 panel but even with the monitor driver installed it wont run at more than 1280x800. >.< Is it something with my cards or the DVI out? Do i need to mod an INF in the video driver? Disappointed as I want to do away with the desktop, I waste so much time copying stuff to it from the laptop when I return from trips.
  7. No idea... and i was told by my OEM that 980s wont go into my P570WM due to Vbios incompatibility
  8. Really enjoyed the books I have read (in english), three of them I think... First game although clunky really was one of my favourite RPGs although not as shiny and accessible as some. Second even more so. Can't wait for the third.
  9. I'm just hoping it turns out my P570 chassis can take them..... System builder already told me that I can't upgrade from SLI 880m to 980M due to Vbios incompatibilities >.<
  10. I too would be interested in a Bios to allow the p750 to run 980s.... my system builder says at the moment that the machine can't take them due to Vbios incompatibility. >.<
  11. First timer with windows 8.1 here... I like a minimalist desktop so I have a few folders full of shortcuts and a picture of myself on a trackday... Nothin' fancy.
  12. I would except I use a gaming laptop because I travel a lot... It would be madness lugging around some form of eGPU. Can't comment for those who don't.... I know a lot of guys who use a laptop when all it ever does is sit on a desk at home.
  13. Yeah am already tempted to return it and wait for a system builder to release 980m in a chassis with a desktop chip.
  14. The original Star Wars Galaxies..... And Eve online although with EVE I have gone from 5 accounts to hardly ever logging in as I don't have time. There's nothing like it though.
  15. I'm on my fifth Clevo machine now... Every time I buy another (have tried sager, Avadirect and PCspecialist) I look longingly at the Alienware site.... But in the end.... I can't stomach paying the extra for what is essentially DELL tech support I won't use and the aesthetic so I always end up with a rebranded Clevo... I travel a lot and in the millions of miles my laptops have been wheeled around the world there has never been a failure. Sure they are ugly but who cares. You pay a shedload more for a lot less IMO with an Alienware.
