  1. can you set the "Core Voltage Offset" to sth like -50mV, hit "apply" and run some tests?!
  2. It is normal! Especially because the case is made from aluminum, which transfers heat quite good.
  3. Really? Your MacBook gets too hot? That shouldn't happen! Maybe your voltage offset was too much and caused instability.
  4. You cant exspect miracles. Did you limit the turbo as well?
  5. 7 years and a "PCI-Express 2.0 x8 XGP port". That is what TB3 can do now ^^
  6. That is great. And the new Nano card from AMD is a great and efficient card, which might even work with big external PSUs.
  7. Every CPU is different! So you can't apply settings from another one to your own CPU, you need to test it. I can run stably with -60mV and Multipliers at 30. Firestrike runs with -80mV and some other apps with -100mV but -60mV is the most stable I achieve. Especially Battlefield 4 is (in my case) extremly sensitive about that settings.
  8. @Piqudo I am from Germany as well and maybe I have some spare parts you could use.
  9. I doubt that a 140mm fan will fit... I used 92mm fans that are very slim, just 14mm thick, the Noctua A-Series NF-A9x14 you linked. For the connection to the GPU I used this one, to connect two fans at once: http://www.moddiy.com/products/4%252dPin-VGA-PWM-Mini-Connector-to-Dual-PH-Mini-4%252dPin-Fan-Cable-Splitter.html And of course a pair of 92mm black fan grills.
  10. Yes there are adapters. But they are mini DisplayPort -> HDMI/VGA/DVI. Running a monitor on a TB port will result in a Optimus monitor -> not the best performance. For best performance the monitor has to be connected to the I/O of the eGPU.
  11. Looks fine, LEDs should work the way Nando described it! And just to be 100% sure, that is the pinout of the DA-2 you used and not the cable you maybe confused to have be mirrored!?
  12. @djmonta What is the perspective of your drawing? is that the output of your DA-2 or the adapter that goes into the DA-2? Did you compare with page1?
  13. Another "funny" observation: I can't really predict if my internal display is "on" when booting with an external display. Frequently my internal display is "off" (still can extend the displays in the settings but nothing happens), but that is giving me a nice advantage! It isn't a Optimus setup -> no laptop Nvidia settings -> I can use all the Nvidia desktop GPU options like DSR.
  14. Can you please try this booting procedure on every Windows boot: - turn on MB - press and hold ALT key - wait for boot chime and boot selection - wait for the WiFi search to be done - now turn on the eGPU (power on), TB cable already connected - wait 5-10sec - boot into Windows
  15. The only advice I can give is: Check if yellow from the Molex plug is connected to the inner part of the barrel and black to the outer part. Also cross check that is NOT the other way around, e.g. yellow on the outer part.
  16. @TifosiRay What is your Hardware? How do you boot (all the steps you take)?
  17. Imho keeping it open source and not doing the trash talk makes you the pleasent guy to go for when it comes to using the script and asking for help.
  18. 1. Please don't mix PSUs 2. The DA-2 alone is way too weak! 3. A 1000W PSU is a total overkill and should easily power the AKiTiO and the Titan X at the same time I am running a GTX980Ti now (which is almost a Titian X) and have no problems, even with a 500W PSU.
  19. Should light up. Latest if you connect it with the TB cable to the Mac as well.
  20. I never cut the AKiTiO cable and I do not know what the "phases" are. I would guess middle is 12V and outer is ground. Please check/verify that!
  21. You could, but in my opinion you should keep the AKiTiO parts as undamaged as possible! Why not buy a barrel plug?
