  1. Mythlogic has the P650SE/SG up for pre-order/config and both the 1080p and 4k screens are glossy!
  2. It looks like they swapped the sleep function key (F4) with the backlit keyboard key (F12) so you don't accidentally put the laptop to sleep when you go to mute or turn the volume down. Still don't know why they don't just move the mute key next to the volume down key, the sleep at F12, and the backlit to F3.
  3. Personally the models I think they should stock are: (1) i7-4710HQ, 970m, 1080p (2) i7-4770HQ, 970m, 3K (3) i7-4770HQ, 980m, 1080p (4) i7-4870HQ, 980m, 4k That is the issue with soldered components. Lack of modularity makes it a bear for companies to supply all the desired variations. I don't see the system able to cool a 4980HQ, probably struggle with 4870HQ, but a good upgrade for the "premium" machine. i7-4702HQ doesn't run much cooler than the 4710HQ, and you can make the 4710HQ run like the 4702, so why bother? But again, it all depends on the cooling potential of the laptop.
  4. Woo hoo! It might be my next notebook then
  5. Thanks. But 48 whr is still crummy. Cleo isn't known for making alternate higher capacity batteries either.
  6. 4-cell battery just kills it for me though. Grrr.
  7. Nice pics! Has design cues from W230SS (and other size variants). 25mm thick and 2.6kg. Weight is surprisingly higher than I thought, but still OK. Although the 3GB GDDR5 is a bit disconcerting. I know technically it shouldn't need more than that, but the fact that a lot of upcoming games are requiring 4GB or even 6GB to run the uber details doesn't bode well. Also is the 5000MHz GDDR5 standard for 970m? Or will there be a 6000MHz version out there? What are all the ports? From those images it's hard to make them all out. Left side is clearly visible as is the rear even though it's hard to discern the ports, and right is barely visible: Left: HDMI, USB 3.0, DP, DP Rear: Power, USB 2.0 ???, eSATA (really?), Firewire??? Right: 3x Audio jacks, Card Reader ???, 2x USB 3.0, VGA??? The 4-cell battery is a bit disappointing too. If that is really eSATA and Firewire, Clevo needs to rethink their port strategy. I'd much rather see two more USB 3.0 ports than eSATA and Firewire. I can't imaging too many people take advantage of those especially on a gaming laptop.
  8. I am sure it will be Optimus and muxless. SE and SG as Prema said may be two different variations of the same model, with different aesthetic features.
  9. I hope Clevo does a good job with the design on this P650SE. I love my W230SS, but so many times I want a larger screen. I also hear there's a P650SG, not sure the difference though. I don't care about super slimness, like Razer who sacrifice everything to make a laptop paper thin that it's so hot you can cook breakfast on it, but thin and light enough that it's easy to handle with one hand. I'd be happy if they had a similar design to W230SS, but in 15" just move the ports to the back, instead of the right side at the front. Looking forward to see what it looks like. Will this P650SE be MXM or soldered?
  10. Would it be possible/make sense to flash an 880m with a 780m vBIOS with clocks same as 880m? Or is there/will there be a vBIOS mod for the 880m SLI to eliminate this issue/bug? On the Sager NP9377 / P377SM-A I am getting black screen with anything over 60Hz. It is quite annoying to have a 120Hz screen but be limited to 60Hz. Thanks!
  11. Did you guys try this? NVIDIA Pixel Clock Patcher I'm having same issue with NP9377 / P377SM-A with SLI 880m. 60Hz I'm OK, anything above 60Hz and it results in white line flashes followed by a black screen.
  12. See what the new Aorus x7 17" laptop will offer with details supposedly announced at CES this week. Performance seems to be on par with a 780m, but chassis is < 1" thick and weighs 2.4kg.
  13. I'm looking for something that's 2x the performance of the 680m and plan on going with whatever that card is in SLI (980m perhaps - 20nm Maxwell?). I'm just surprised nVidia decided to release the 880m as a third time around rebrand. Curious to see what the 128-bit lineup will be. Granted I also plan on moving this year as well as taking my kids to Disney next year, so this whole desire may not fit in my plans.
  14. Look for the Dell PA-9E 240W AC adapter on eBay, and get one of these plug adapters: X75 Power Connector - 7.4 x 5.08mm Female Jack to 5.5 x 2.5mm Male Plug Just note that the Dell PA-9E is 19.5V, the Sager/Clevo is 19.0V. It should be safe, but use at your own risk. Dimensions of the PA-9E are roughly 8x4x1 inch (20x10x2.5cm) and weighs about 25oz (0.7kg)
  15. Ah, nice. So it is a 780m (Kepler) clocked 180MHz faster then?
  16. I hear ya. Ever since I got my W230ST I haven't touched my P150EM and am considering selling it. The 680m may be a nice boost, but the 765m can run every game so far at similar detail levels at 1080p, at only a slight FPS hit, and dropping some details can get it back up there. At stock voltage I can get it to run +150 GPU (1050MHz) and +550 vRAM (2550MHz) and 3DMark 11 scores are low 5000's. I'd rather pocket $1000 for my P150EM than have it sit largely unused. It's always good to have a second gaming laptop, because I'm always paranoid for those "just in case" scenarios, but I have a desktop that I can use for a week or two for gaming if it ever needs to go in for repair.
  17. I currently am using a modded vBIOS that unlocks the multis and also runs at full speed on battery. Just stock voltage.
  18. Good review. I think the niggling little problems can be fixed. My biggest issues that could / can be fixed fairly easily are pretty common ones for Clevo unfortunately: - fan profile - iGPU only at 400MHz on battery (come on Clevo, wtf?) - CPU speeds locked to 1.5GHz on battery, although Throttlestop 6.00 b1 fixes that (thanks unclewebb) - usual limited BIOS options (Prema's hard at work though) - fan rattling at low speeds. I know some users had theirs replaced but never knew if it fixed the issue or not Otherwise the size, weight, performance, and screen of this laptop are phenomenal.
  19. Specs say 811MHz + boost: GeForce GTX 770M | Specifications | GeForce Although I have to say that I never see it dropping below boost speed probably since temps are so low and remains well below TDP. It's when you really want to push your machine that it may become problematic.
  20. Is there any way to get a vBIOS for the Clevo W230ST 765m with unlocked voltage or at least a fixed voltage? Will vBIOS patcher work with this? Thanks.
  21. Thanks for this great program. Is it possible to add a feature like in PizzaDude's original backlight program, to make center light indicate whether dedicated or IGP are activated and adjust GPU temp accordingly? So if IGP is active, have colors change to IGP temp, if dedicated is active, have colors change to dedicated temp?
  22. Is it a Sager or Clevo notebook? Yes please if you could share. Although I did just use svl7's OC BIOS and it worked for what I need I think, but it'd be good to have the original too if you don't mind posting. I did back mine up but can't find it!
