Hi . I just found this site and wanted to give the link to you: http://www.eurocom.com/ec/upgrade(2,259,0)ec I wrote with Eurocom and they say, that they provide an installation service for an extra 195$. I wrote further and wrote that I don't understand, why Windows 7 should not be supported if running full UEFI. I added that they should provide an upgrade service for the 120Hz display model with the installation service. Maybe we'll see a new webpage for an upgrade and installation service within the next days. Seraiel

Intel Core i7-3630QM CPU overclocking possible?
Seraiel replied to Michael Prechtl's topic in General Notebook Discussions
I read this thread today, because I want to overclock my QM 3630. In the Alienware BIOS, there's a whole page of overclocking options. Only problem I have is, that I never OCed a CPU, those 10-15 values which I could modify on my M17xR4 mostly say nothing to me, i. e. "GT overclocking" etc. Maybe it's easier, to test how much is possible with the XTU-utility that got linked and then force those clocks and multipliers in the BIOS? Any help appreciated. -
OFFICIAL: Alienware M17x R3 / R4 - Owners Lounge
Seraiel replied to Brian's topic in Alienware M17x / AW 17
There seems to be a similar issue with the ATI Grafics Card, remember I also had to update the driver of the Intel Card, because it was causing problems. Another source of problems seems to be the Logitech Gaming Software, causing random crashes from version 8.45.88 onwards... -
Alienware M17x R4 Adding a second hard drive
Seraiel replied to DJSNiperwolf's topic in Alienware M17x / AW 17
What I read in another guide, is, that one should not install the HDD near the Grafics Card, because of heat issues, therefor, I installed my SSD in Slot 2 and simply changed the booting sequence. -
M17x-R3 CPU & GPU Re-Pasting Guide w/Pics!
Seraiel replied to DaneGRClose's topic in Alienware M17x / AW 17
Read the whole thread. First off, I find it amazing, how much courage you guys have, keeping in mind, that it's perfectly possible to screw ones complete hardware if i. e. applying too much paste? Once had a DELL technician at my home, was also already astonished as his speed when repasting the CPU an my old XPS. Wonder if I ever will try to do something like this to my AW, having the thread and what I said in mind, I guess that there are guidelines to which one can stick to at least not screw up and cause harm to the system, I'd find that a link to a tutorial, enlightening people about what they have to keep in mind when applying the paste would be great, as I guess that most errors are either done there, or when tightening the screws. Anyhow, great Guide, so feel free to add that info whenever you want, or not, if this is basic knowledge. Sera -
Just wanted to add some info to this thread, regarding the Kingston HyperX 2133 Mhz RAMs. I installed those personally in my Alienware M17xR4. Result: Not working. Symptom: Black Screen (after turning on power) . Also verified by some very few users that tried this themselves. Note: This is only right for AW M17xR4, they are actually working on AW M18 models afaik. Regards, Sera
