It would be interesting to know if it could be possible to "magically" convert our 650 SLI to a 750 SLI (if everything hardware wise is the same, of course).

Flashed the new version for Y500 - 650SLI without a problem. I am just wondering if there's a way to slightly increase the 650's voltages, and if so, how? Thx!!!!

Thx for the tip, I've installed it and it is PURRRFECT!!!!! As for windows 8, well apart from that annoyance, everything feels right to me, and the learning curve is ok. Game wise it seems to run all the games ok, so not complaining, and driver wise, I have no problems in my Y500 as of yet, and no drivers crashing...sweet

Just a quick post to thank svl7 for his mods. Got internal GPU to 1165/2200 Mhz and external to 1156/2200 Mhz ... a good 10 fps increase in Tomb Raider! Thing is that external GPU is -25mV less than internal, and is about 9c higher than internal... not that good cooling or maybe the cooler on external isn't as big/good. Anyways, ossom GPU OC, so thanks again!!!! The 3630qm is the one that I couldn't overclock, too bad, as I see it has big potential, but it's not a slow cpu by all means!

Thx Khenglish, in effect you are totally right, now that I was able to flash modded bioses and tinker with. And no, I wasn't able to find the BCLK setting to even tamper with. Oh well, no worries, it's not like the 3630 is a slow cpu by all means, it's that urge to overclock everything... even the washing machine xDDD

Well... for me it's nVidia, although once I had a bittersweet experience... I bought one expensive card, many years ago, and was happy with it, till 3 days later, I see the new version of the card, cheaper than mine, and also, my card was less than half the price...damn... For now, I can say that my first experience with SLI is working nice and flawless, and the graphical quality is astonishing ... Tomb Raider is just gorgeous!!!!

For me, personally I like glossy coz it makes the screen feel like "crystal"...but I won't be using my Y500 outside, so don't have the reflection issues...

Had a Logitech G500 die on me some time ago, so for now am with a cheap 10€ Logitech mouse... but it works...

Just reread the thread two times and there seem to be conflicting info... so... Throttlestop can overclock a little bit the 3630qm or not? ... from what I've tried, I can't go past 34x... so I need the modded bios for my Y500? Thanks all for your help!

Since I was a boy, I always have the urge to overclock, just because it can be done, and to squeeze the most out of the hardware! My first overclock was replacing the quartz clock of a 286 board, from 12 Mhz to 16 Mhz... yeah I'm "that" old! xD
