  2. This is a mod for the Hotkey.exe file, it changes the stock, ugly, OSD icons to some prettier ones. Kudos to deceptron for the original design: Deceptron's Alienware OSD Icons Set Right now this will probably only work on Hotkey v.8.0.134 (the latest at the moment). I don't know if i'll do any more versions. Time permitting, and if there's a demand, I might. Instructions: Kill the stock Hotkey.exe via the task manager. Replace the stock file with mine and reboot. HotKey 80134.zip

  3. I'd be much appreciated if anyone can help me with the driver issue, so we can finish with a proper review. and if you found the preview is useful, you are welcome to copy/paste to other forum. no need to contact me , and you can remove the upgrademonkey words. The 880M is coming this Feb 2014. Here at upgrademonkey we are having an world exclusive peek of the brand new 880M, the new king of mobile graphic card. Essentially a rebranded 780M with higher clock speed. Like in the car industry, there are refresh and new generation of products. This 880M belongs to the refresh, the architecture of the GPU is unchanged, while with the improvement on manufacturing process. We can now labour a higher speed at the same thermal and power allowance. There won’t be anything suprising or even exciting with the new 880M. however the limited performance gain is welcomed, with the 4K display available fairly soon as a spec option. We anticipate the Graphic performance will fairly soon become the bottlenecks of mobile again. The 880M is coming this Feb 2014. Hardware: The PCB is the same Green colour, not the prettiest, but hey this is no beauty contest in the hardware arena .so we are not complaining. It is fascination to see Nvidia managed to squzzed 8 Gig of memory in to a gaming card. We have seen that in the K5100M,( again proud to be the first to test it) which is the king of mobile professional card. I am not sure if we are going to see massive gain from the double memory chips. Is it a marketing gimmick ? let find out later. Our testing rig is Clevo P177SM, with 4930MX the king of mobile CPU installed , 16Gh of Ram, And now the 880M. now we are having the fastest laptop ( single card) in the world. This should be no bottom neck for our new sweetheart 880M. I particularly set the keyboard to random lights, This should match the mood of Christmas handover and the Chinese new year is coming in 2 weeks. we can see the 880M model is not fully recognized in the system with the mod .inf. we can see the card is cool maxed out at 86degree C with room temperature of 21.5 Degree C. still the card throttled. The Test: let call it a mock test. (note : the 880M was tested with 780M driver, no offical driver avaiable at the time of testing, therefore we are experiencing performance bottleneck, throttling problem. with our experience of grahpic card, we can safely estimate the "Real" score of 880M should be about 3Dmark Pmode 9000-9500 , and 3Dmark 11 X mode 3000-3100) 3Dmark X mode, the gain form 3Dmark Xmode is higher, this can contributed by the extra 4G Vram, which may help with heavy load. I'd love to test the 880M with a 4K screen, (nearly bought one , at the moment only have 3 X 27inch apple cinema display sports 2560x 1440 in our stuido) same story with 3Dmark 2013 To wrap up, The GTX 880M nodoubt is the new King of mobile graphic card ,with the 8970M and 780M not far behind, but it is not getting a sound sleep with the 9970M or rumored 290M coming out fairly soon. It should be interesting to benchmark the 2 new mobile gaming kings head to head. Keep turned with upgrademonkey, we should see you very shortly.

  4. Xigmatek Elysium Full System Watercooling After my Asus MarsII watercooling project has “failed”, I went on with my two GTX Titans. I was long undecided whether I want to invest money again to set up or leave the system as it is with an unused radiator, reservoir and pump. In November I decided to create a list with all watercooling components which I would need to cool the entire system with one watercooling loop. Unfortunately not all parts were in stock at that time, especially the availability of the black 19/13 Monsoon Rotarys was unknown. I let the whole thing fall back a little, I had less time anyway and many things were going on. Now in January everything was in stock and I decided to order. My 25th birthday was coming, so I made myself a gift. Hardware: Case: Xigmatek Elysium PSU: Enermax MaxRevo1500 Mainboard: Asus Rampage IV Extreme CPU: Intel Core i7-3960X RAM: 4x8Gb G.Skill RipjawsZ 2133Mhz GPU: 2x Asus GTX Titan SLI Watercooling Parts: Pump: Alphacool VPP655-T12 Reservoir: Phobya Balancer 250 Radiator: Watercool Mo-Ra3 360 PRO Tubing: Masterkleer UV red 19/13mm Motherboard: EKWB RE4-Kit Acetal+Nickel CSQ CPU: Aquacomputer Cuplex Kryos HF GPU: Aquacomputer Kryographics nickelplated + Watercool backplate Everything arrived on January 10th, the only thing missing was the R4E motherboard cooling kit, which @svl7 ordered and paid as part of our PS4 deal. Thanks again. ;D On Friday the 17th everything was ready to install. As always, not everything went according to the plan, learning by doing and problem solving as usual. I removed the AX850 PSU and the H100 from the top of the case and also tried to clean the whole case a bit. After 5 hours everything was mounted in the Xigmatek Elysium case again and the system was ready for looptesting. My room looked as if a bomb had exploded. I did a looptest for almost 6 hours, checked the system afterwards and found no leak. I changed the pump to the Enermax 1500W PSU and started the machine. Temps were all good, I did a clean install of Windows 8.1 Pro, until late afternoon the system was ready for some testing. I changed back to my Logitech G19 to be able to monitor the system temps using HWinfo. (Thanks @Mumak for your amazing tool ;D). I overclocked my i7-3960X to 4.5Ghz and the two GTX Titans to 1155Mhz (core; memory stock), highest temperatures reached were 57°C for the CPU and 50°C for the GPUs with a room temperature of 19°C having the four 180mm radiator fans at minimum speed (~40% = ~300RPM) with full speed (700RPM) max temps are 5-10°C lower. FullRes: Click here Some work still needs to be done, I want to sleeve the second GPU powercable and the currently existing temporary solution has to be replaced with a proper installation. The list with parts I need is already prepared, I'll order in the next days...

  6. A greater probability of one of the memory chips not being able to handle the overclock, as all the chips will have to run only as fast as the slowest one can go. The more chips you have the greater the chance of having one included that won't overclock well.

  12. Just to make sure Lee doesn't hand out cards to just anyone on TI, I've PM him setting very specific criteria for his protection. Sent from my RM-937_apac_hong_kong_222 using Tapatalk
