  1. Just reposting from the m14x forum, would like to see if anyone can get the procedures outline in the manual to work with another laptop (just with different numbers). *** Hello everyone, After about 100 hours, extensive fine tuning, benchmarking, re-testing, system crashes (and a possible re-installation of Windows 7), I have finally made a guide that can offer much assistance to overclocking/overvolting as well as reproducible results. Free File Sharing Made Simple - MediaFire That is the folder I saved the document in. There may be more revisions to come. Maybe even another laptop, will see if any of the students in this campus has an Alienware Here is the latest revision, stored in this site: Alienware Overclocking Guide [rev 2].pdf Note: This guide can be used on any laptop given there is the unlocked BIOS for it, the procedures will be the same, the numbers will not. Might want to ask svl7 if you are not overclocking an m14x Raymosrunerx PS: To make life a lot easier, please download the latest revision, I already saw some major errors and pointers I left out in the first revision. I was too eager to post this.

  2. Man time flies. Looks like I mozied on into this place almost a year to the day since I first joined. Where has Lozz of Notebook review been all this time? Playing with my toys, as usual, The R2 hasn't been getting a lot of love, but that's changing.. Top tip; Detail spray and waterless wash work on laptops too! Adams; not just for cars boats or RV's - Adam's Polishes Forums Then of course.. there's the new love of my life; there's a few drag racing/autocross videos in my youtube channel Did I miss anything? I've ordered up another momentus XT to put in Raid 0 --- anyone want a 120GB vertex 2? Have they shoved Crossfire 6990's in the R2 yet? I figured since ME3 and Skyrim are out it's time to spruce up the old girl.

  6. Ok, I hope I found the proper entries, I'm not really familiar with Nvidia VBIOS. Changed the shader to 300 and mem to 250 as requested earlier by mw86. I didn't touch the voltage. Let me know how well it works. As always, I don't take any responsibility for bricked systems. Flash at your own risk. 580m battery 150-300 mem250.zip

  10. The 2430M is a dual core processor which should be sufficient for a system like the M14x but the problem is there are a lot of new titles that utilize 4 cores (e.g. BF3) so you may see a bit of a performance hit with a lesser CPU. Now as far as the second GPU configuration, the 3.0 GB is not any faster than the 1.5 GB version at all. So don't be fooled by the extra video memory, it won't help you in any game. So my recommendation is you go with system #2. And lastly, welcome to Tech|Inferno!
