spr193
Hi all,Just installed HWiNFO64 and I was just looking through the specs and found out that the OEM RAM chips are 4GB PC3-12800 DDR3 by a company called Nanya Technology. I've never had any problems with my laptop yet, but I'm only running on 8GB RAM. Does anyone know if the M14xR1 supports 16GB? I'm pretty sure there's only two slots for memory on the M14x so that would mean 2x8GB chips. I've always used well known memory brands like Corsair, Crucial, and I've heard great things about the brand Mushkin. So my main question is, would the M14xR1 support two 8GB chips = 16GB?Yes it supports 16gb as my friend has an Alienware M14x r1 and he has installed corsair 16gb 1600mhz. but if u are saying to install a single stick og 16gb then my friend i m sorry it is not possible. NforceRaid
Hi anyone tried these? RAM SO-DIMM DDR3 16GB / 1866MHz Corsair Vengeance [2x8GB] cl 10 1.5 V rt [CMSX16GX3M2A1866C10] than KHX1600C9S3/8G 2x8gb Kingston HyperX 1600Mhz cl 9, there is a performance gain or is minimal and the upgrade is useless. thanks and ciao
phantomzwie
I thought the M14x could support 16gb of memory. I have 8gb of hyper-x kingston running at 1867MHz
sebastiant
have you flashed the bios, as i've tried multiple brands/bus speeds, and couldn't make it work past 8gb
Aerostang
May not be 'officially' supported, but I'm running (2x8gb) 16gb of RAM Corsair Vengence with no issues whatsoever on A08 bios. Computer recognizes and uses it fully and I've had no problems. No mods either, just plug and play. M14x R1
