SRDDonkey
Sounds like the xeon would be the better option for 3d rendering. If your workflow is not as heavily threaded, wait for skylake and you can get quite a benefit out of ocing it for single threaded applications. Guest
I think the xeon would be the better choice because the support for 28 Cores is not safe.
i_pk_pjers_i
I would probably get the Xeon, it's likely to be better for any rendering.
XenonXTX
Agree with everybody. 2011v3 will kill and chew everything 3D that you throw at it!
israsuke
Ha its out, and not worth the wait!!!! and with the ddr4 cost hope that you guys didn't wait for it.
Alixalman
True. It wasn't worth the wait tbh
pomme_de_terror
I personally upgraded to Skylake and I love it. However it would be more cost effective to just get the xeon.
aageon
I upgraded from an I7 990X to an 6700k and quite happy with it.
diegomelch
If you are in the US, bills are not a problem I think, get a Xeon. But if you live in Europe, don't get a Xeon or your bills will be very high. Also: you can consider i7 with multithreading, like i7-2600, if you need something cheap.
Cailley06
Xeon might work out best. Just thinking out loud.
