Don't seem to have tesselation as an option though... And some new PB's, WOOT for 5.3GHz, unfortunately it's only stable for wprime -

svl7
Hahaha, great job Jimbo!! Are you already at the limit or not? I really don't know much about the current desktop hardware and performance... 50k vantage GPU, full ow win
Jimbo
Yeah, I'm getting pretty close to the limit. 10mhz more on the gpus and it crashes every time. They'll be going under water soon, so that might help a little. Might even add a third card to show the 590/6990 boys who's boss. LOL. I'm thinking about going phase-change on the cpu, 5.2/5.3GHz seems to be the ceiling for now, without going crazy with Vcore anyway.
svl7
Ok, what about the GPU voltage? I mean it's not necessary for gaming I guess, but for benching...
Jimbo
That is the max I believe, unless I reflash the cards with a new BIOS. That's one of the things I'm not 100% on how to do.
Jimbo
Thinking about this for a new case, questions/comments/ideas are MORE than welcome. It'd match my M18 also. PC case with water cooling + Phase Change Sub-Zero Red | eBay
Guest bifnewman
That thing looks sweet. It must be huge if it fits a full ATX board with the liquid cooling pump on the bottom.
Founder StamatisX Posted July 9, 2011 Founder Share Posted July 9, 2011 nice case man
Guest bifnewman
I just noticed that it's over $1000AU for that case. Is that normal or is it just extremely overpriced?
Jimbo
That bit in the bottom is a phase-change unit, basically a fairly powerful refrigerator that concentrates all the cooling power on the 2" square of copper on the end of the flex line. Can hold a 300w heatload at -40C to allow for sub zero 24/7 cooling. The same case is available without it for ~$500AUD.
Guest bifnewman
Damn, you could do some mad overclocks with that.
Founder StamatisX Posted July 9, 2011 Founder Share Posted July 9, 2011 How do you plan to insulate the mobo?
Jimbo
How do you plan to insulate the mobo? Still doing some research on that, any ideas?
Jubbin Grewal
Nice build mate, I'm also looking at building a monster desktop for me (no where near as good as yours though lol). How much did that setup cost you?
Jimbo
Reusing some parts (case, storage, watercooling etcetera), but as a general -Mobo/cpu/hdd/ram/psu ~$1400AUD2 x 580 - $800AUD (2nd hand, less than a month old)
Founder StamatisX Posted July 10, 2011 Founder Share Posted July 10, 2011 What monitor do you use? (about the mobo insulation I will see what I can find as well and will let you know)
Jimbo
I've got an ASUS MT276H 27"at the moment, but I got a killer deal on 2x samsung 305T 30" IPS monitors, the current plan is to see how one of those is, and possibly order a dell u3011 for 30" surround gaming. Founder StamatisX Posted July 11, 2011 Founder Share Posted July 11, 2011 sweeeet.... I would suggest all monitors to be the same cause you will see the differences if you put them next to each other...
Jimbo
I get it, but 3 x dell would be ~$4200. I'm hoping to get a good deal on another 305T, they're just under $2000 here. I got the pair for $900.
Founder StamatisX Posted July 11, 2011 Founder Share Posted July 11, 2011 Yeah the cost of 3x 30" Dell monitors is simply too much I agree. $900 for a pair of 305T? nice!
Jimbo
I figure it shouldn't be too bad, run the dell in the middle with a samsung on either side. The specs look fairly similar according to this awesome site I found - 30 inch LCD monitors(Note, I was just testing an OC, had a BSOD and recovered the text I'd already typed. I love the auto-save)
Founder StamatisX Posted July 11, 2011 Founder Share Posted July 11, 2011 I was checking that link and I saw that monitor "Barco MDCC-6130" you should get 3 of those Just for those only you would have to pay $52.500 LMAO
