Founder Brian Posted May 5, 2011 Founder Share Posted May 5, 2011 I believe you have to go into the Intel graphics settings and change it manually back to 60 Hz.

Stevenxowens792
Depends on where the adjust settings are located. If you look in the registry you have keys for each setting in power management. If it's an adjustment that's coded in the bios I doubt much can be done. I dont have the machine in front of me until later today so I will try to check later. Arklight if you want to start digging hit all the keys in relation to power mgmt. StevenX
Arklight
I tried all things from power management, apparently it's an issue with the random shutdown while gaming with the battery. Many people are complaining about it. I believe it's an issue with all m14x's.. :
Stevenxowens792
Arklight, I am talking about the 40hz change in relation to being on battery. In the registry I am wondering if something is in the portion that controls the power mgmt. Also, when the machines shut off (like mine does as well) are your GPU Settings set to Balanced on Battery or Max Perf? Try it on balanced and see what it does. Thanks, StevenX
Arklight
I will check the registry for the power management. The shut down only happens when you play graphic intensive games power set on high performance. Rev is having the same problem as well. This is mostly in relation to the battery. In the "other" forum, they got DellChrisM asking for their service tags to be sent to his PM so they can check it out. And one user will get a new battery for it. mw86
Weird so its something going on with the M14's? I had my R2 have trouble in crossfire on battery but who knows I probably was overclocking and didn't even realize it.
TitanGod
the latest Intel graphics drivers prevent the laptop from switching back to 40Hz once you set it to 60Hz. Here is a link to the drivers I'm using and they are perfect!http://downloadcenter.intel.com/confirm.aspx?httpDown=http://downloadmirror.intel.com/20035/eng/Win7Vista_15221.exe〈=eng&Dwnldid=20035&DownloadType=%0aDrivers%0a
