curvingedge
Does anyone have any experience doing upgrading the Clevo P370EM from the single 680m to the dual? What all do I need and is it an easy install? Also can I do the upgrade with a modded VBIOS? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Founder Brian Posted December 19, 2012 Founder Share Posted December 19, 2012 Does anyone have any experience doing upgrading the Clevo P370EM from the single 680m to the dual? I would recommend you buy an upgrade kit from RJTechwww.rjtech.com. They will sell you two cards with the sinks and they may have the sli cable too. Clevorr
Yep, very easy to do. Just need the extra heatsink assembly and screws if you don't have them already and in it goes.. SLI cable also as Brian mentioned is easy to get. Vbios flash is very easy, there are instructions here too. You looking to buy or upgrade yours ? curvingedge
I am already running one 680m so it looks like I just need to purchase the upgrade kit and install it. The laptop came with the fan already installed. There is also a disconnected cable right next to the second video card slot, could this be the SLI cable? Already in the laptop? lonesyndal
So if I were to buy a P370EM with a single GPU and I transfer my GPU from my P150EM to the new one. What would I be missing from the upgrade kit, and if so, the price for the missing parts?
HTC_HD
I think you are not talking about the SLI cable and its that free cable which no one knows why its there only the manufacturer, I have it too, but the SLI cable is different as Clevorr said its actually flat brown ribbon style cable, its also not straight it goes like letter Z but in longer shape, I have seen on the internet straight flat SLI cable for sale but am afraid it will not fit in P370EM to connect two cards so be careful "but I might be wrong"..(sry for my En skills)
haiwepa
You will miss heatsink (between 50 and 80€) and a SLI ribbon (above 20€). SLI cable are the same for P37xx series. EDIT: to add some pics of what you have to look for 2nd GPU heatsink and sli cable
