nikeysunfire
Hello everybody, I have a G73JH-RBBX05 that is out of warranty, so I opened it up to do a deep cleaning inside (and it needed it so bad) after reassembling it as soon as I plug the AC adapter the computer turns on by itself, but no image on the screen, I can see the power button light on, as well as the 3 right side buttons for twinturbo, vivid mode, etc. Also the capslock and numlock leds light up, the LED bar on the screen and finally the ON led indicator light on the front of the laptop. Is there something damaged on the unit? Here is short recording of my problem, thanks a lot for your help in advance.
Founder Brian Posted August 31, 2012 Founder Share Posted August 31, 2012 Sounds like its short causing the problem. You should disassemble it and try again. I'd suggest checking out this video:
svl7
Make sure you reconnected all cables properly, especially the LVDS connection of the screen... Here's the disassembly guide as PDF: http://forum.techinferno.com/asus-gaming-notebook-forum/726-asus-g73-series-disassembly-guide.html
nikeysunfire
Thanks for replying guys. I've checked all the cables attached to the computer, and I've tried testing the motherboard without any cables attached except for the 2 fans, but still the laptop powers up by it self when I plug the ac adapter, it is so weird....thanks! maykon_helver
it seems that you may have damaged a cable or connection!this may be causing a short circuit or something.I already went through this problem when I clean out my G73JW when ridden forgot to connect the cable LCD = (! Jgibson1402
cable worked for me!
Krashkource
I used to have a G73jh and had the same problem when re-assembling it. I found that there is a small reset button that can be depressed if the wireless cables get moved around when you put the system back together.
