I think Lenovo has already replaced 650m with 750m in newer y500 models. A single 750M scores p2600 on 3dmark11.

I assume this is a clean install? you can always restore to factory setting using novo bottom as long as the hidden partitions are intact.

svl7 didn't modify vbios of modded v1.05, you have to try modded v2.02. See his thread for details.

My y500 had a glossy screen until I put on a matte-finished screen protector. Now I missed my glossy screen because the protector makes the screen look grainy. In terms of reflection I don't notice it much when I have my laptop on, but I do think glossy screen gives a better image quality.

you can try to update your bios. i've heard that 1.05 causes problems with SLI
