Thinking of ordering second X5650 .

Actually it was not my fault because, he told me that he will send the xplates too , but he didnt . and I tried searching it everywhere , but couldnt find one , so I used it with custom springs . and due to the heat the card died . so I returned it , seller said he will rma it and resell in ebay or ask me to pay him the same price so he will re ship to me. up to now didnt hear back from him, so for the money I have in hand il go gtx 680 route.

oh yea . I asked him for the x plate and the screws , he didnt have it , and I didnt find that thing anywhere , so ran the card without it but only with custom screws , now its dead due to overheat.

UPDATE : my HD 6990 died on me , so I returned it to seller , for now im using my GTX 465 . Ordered an X5650 ES Xeon for now , will be getting it within a week or so . also sold my G73jh . have planned to watercool both the cpu's ( E5603 and X5650 ) still not sure if Il be able to run my E5603 along with my new X5650 .

he wont be interested in trading because he tested his own dell card that came from his m18x on his g73 .

you can use clevo but you have to flash it with non eundro clevo hd 7970m vbios , and dell card works on g73 without any vbios flash . clevo card needs non eundro vbios or else it wont work. and card works with stock asus bios. thanks

single gtx 670 is more powerful that single asus mars ii , man those size comparisons are awesome , then what will happen to your mars ii ?

It should work , because I sold my first dell card to a clevo owner , which still perfectly works for him. but flashing vbios is not going to work.

can I overclock my i7 740qm ? never overclocked an mobile processor before.

yes I saw the clocks with hwinfo64 , while running furmark . but I figured it out , it was because my voltage was 1.18 but when I changed it to 1.15 then I was able to overclock , now running 825 core 1065mem @ 1.15v on my clevo hd 5870m but my fans are max .

but however vbios chip need 128k file to work properly , 64k wont have all the info , did the guy who dumped the clevo vbios do it through dos / or with gpu-z ?

Rbe editor doesnt read that vbios , so there must be something wrong with it . @svl7 in anychance can you try it on your card ?

I overclocked my clevo hd 5870m to 800 core , 1100 mem and 1.18v through rbe and flashed vbios , but hwinfo64 and msi afterburner shows as 700 and 1000 , but gpu-z shows as 800 , 1100 but in sensors section it shows as 700 and 1000 , what could be the error , do i need to reinstall drivers?

cant overclock my cpu more than this , the stock speed is: 1.6ghz , I have overclocked it to 2.5Ghz at 208 bclk * 12 multi . if I overclock more than this , sometimes I get bsods . but on a cool day i was able to oc to 2.64 at 220bclk * 12 multi. the volt regulators on my hd 6990 running so hot , the gpu's running cool , yesterday I opened the card and saw , the thermal paste over the ram has remained the same , it didnt get in contact with heatsink , so I used the thermal pads , but after reinstalling the heatsink , the gpu started to get hot very fast , like 90oC when using firefox . its because the thermal pads are 1mm thick and not letting the gpu to get in nice contact with the heatsink .I guess the thickness should be 0.5mm and is there a way to use thermal paste over it to make some contact , then the temps will be more less. thanks

today got ,my crucial m4 sdd and reinstalled os . and I benched it : here 10198 at stock clocks even without extreme bios switch , it looks great. I cant overclock because of the temps.

the life of Asus G73Jh is also extended with the power of hd 7970m , a guy posted it works , but internal screen doesnt work but it works through hdmi external screen , what can be causing this issue ? and also does anyone have clevo hd 7970m vbios , because he going to flash the card to get the fan control , lol , will clevo vbios work on that card ? I know that fan control wont work normal with clevo vbios in dell card. thanks
