  1. Well my GTX770M has arrived just waiting on the HSF to arrive now. Now it looks blue with green tinge. Sorry in advance if picture is crud, taken on a phone. It also has a vBIOS version 80.06.51.00.30. So question is, is it my eyes or is this defo clevo GTX770M. Once i have a HSF i will dump the vbios and share it.
  2. Not quite getting you there Rhandamanthis, but will try and answer your question the best i can. The reason why most are Flashing MSI vbioses to Clevo GTX770M's is simple, using a MSI Vbios means there is no requirement to mod the display driver from nvidia. Thats the .inf thats modded for using Clevo cards in other computers. If i had a Dell laptop i'd flash the Dell vbios if using a Clevo required me to mod the .inf file to get the Drivers installed. As always there is a chance of bricking the GPU, which if you save the original vbios you can then hopefully blind flash it back to stock and be up and running again. @Suoah thanks for replying mate, Still waiting for the card after all it is Sunday evening so hopefully Friday max i should have both the HSF and GPU whoot whoot.
  3. Ok, Will download that bios ready. I take it has only had the power limited removed? As i don't want to go over 160/170watts on the PSU being 180watt. Thanks for your reply. Is the GTX770M superfast compared to the GTX560M
  4. Thanks for reply, Do you have said MSI vbios thats not been unlocked ?
  5. I think the GTX770M HSF will work on a GTX780M. As in terms of Performance which card to use i.e 780 or the 8970 unless your using CAD a 780M has the edge in performance for gaming and benching, just have a look here. Radeon HD 8970M vs GeForce GTX 780M That might help you decide.
  6. @ligrew which MSI bios did you use? Also did you need to use another to flash the vBios or was that part of your testing path when you was trying to findout about the throttling mate. Was it defo clevo blueboard GTX770M before flashing MSI version vbios on. Only asking as my GTX770M is on its way and i am wondering about dumping the stock vbios from the clevo card then trying to crossflash. I will be requiring a Stock MSI GTX770M vbios as i just want it to run as stock as possible on my laptop not interested in O/C'ing the card as it will be tons faster then my current GTX560M in my MS-16F2..
  7. Hi all i have just ordered a Clevo GTX770M which should be on its way from Mokkin from the link on the forums. No i have a 180wat PSU and Xonars unlocked bios already installed on laptop. Now my main question is can the GTX770M's Sub Vendor be changed with a simple dump of the vBios and Editing it, then flashing back or as it down to a hardware mod. Only reason i ask is because their is conflicting info about the net, I am all for Modded .inf files from time to time but Editing the Sub Vendor if it can be vbios modded would be easier and would also mean i will not have to mod the recovery partition image i have already made. Also another questions to other with the same barebone thats gone to the GTX770M hows the temps like now on the GPU and do you get throttling issues. Personally i can't wait for the Card and HSF to arrive so i can get playing games with decent stable frame rates as the aging GTX560M is now to me starting to not cut the mustard. Thanks in advance for any reply's!
  8. sweet will add to wishlist. I think i might just treat myself to a GPU for christmas.
  9. Is that ebay user ok to deal with. Also will it work for sure with the Barebone MS-16F2. Just that i have had a dodgy ATI card once already and don't want to go down that road again.
  10. I have a Notebook Cooler, personally all though it doesn't bring the temps down big time its still handy to have. But Thermal paste is the best way. I use MX-4 but looking at the Prolima Tech PK-1 i might give that a try. But don't use the ICD it really makes a mess of the GPU and CPU die when you remove it not only that its a pain to put on as well.
  11. I also find taking out the DVD-Rom drive helps as well as using a old simcard. Just becareful with the S-Bar as you can break the clips. I have removed my S-bar a few times now swapping not only the wifi but releasing the keyb
  12. I was able to recover my MS-16F2 GTX560M Vbios with blind flash. Would disabling the Intel GMA in bios allow for a blind flash. As all i did was used a 128MB USB stick formated it with plain dos put the nvflash.exe (dos) on it with the backup.rom made a bat file and then booted of the USB typed in the bat file name waited 2 minutes reboot laptop and boom it worked. Will that work on ATI. If not i can't help you with that all i can say is to anyone flashing Vbioses or bioses is to flash them in dos. Flashing with Windows is a very bad idea. I take it you can't hot flash it either? like the good old days.
