  1. I think the wiring could be wrong, maybe you wrong labeled the sides or didn't count the wires properly or the riser is not soldered properly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Got no ideea, cause it is a mac not a pc or a laptop. On pc usually reset button or ctrl+alt+del works. Try with fn key maybe? Or use a pc keyboard on usb? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Soft reboot again with everything connected and see if setup 1.x can see the videocard. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Connect sonnet with laptop from beginning. When at windows bootloader, turn on PSU so that videocard is powered. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Yes, I think it looks ok. You can remove the other end and all wires not used and keep only one end to connect to the PSU. Use a needle to remove the wires from the connector. Disconnect the video card from the slot and remove the sonnet echo. Start the PSU with one fan connected to it and with a multimeter check all wires for voltages and see if all of them are wired properly. If all good, reconnect everything and boot again, before windows boot loader manager connect thunderbolt. If no sign of video card, cold reset a couple of times. But it should work if you test it a little. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
  6. Wait a second. The card must have its fans spinning, otherwise it means it is not working. What card you have there? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Added images: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Yes, you need to buy a riser/extender card, cut some wires and solder them to an atx extender. Is kinda easy actually. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. What guy? Link please? Is this somerhing more than opening the bios dump in AMIBCP? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Hi Prema, just a quick question, is more like modding/programming question. How did you managed to register Fn+F1 as a shortcut and how did you turned the fan full blowing? Does this involves ACPI/DSDT? Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
  11. If not able to find it, just pm me until I give you a mirror link, cause I have it somewhere. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
  12. Latest version i think is x1.3 and you can contact nando for details. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. It would be no problem I guess to make those options accesible, but can you cmos reset the laptop in case something goes wrong? If the display will stay black what are you going to do? Because you might need do to a clear cmos by removing the cmos battery, and that means ypu have to unscrew the screws on the back and pop out the keyboard with the aluminium frame around it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. For me, with Asus G750JW, iGPU is always off. I'm just saying there are options to turn it off in new series bioses. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Yes, the options are there, but you have to test this to see if it works. And the worst part would be that you have to do a blind flash or open the laptop and reprogram the eeprom if it fails and you get a black screen after you turn off the igpu in bios. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
  16. So, if I get this right, we have an Asus card with a Thunderbolt chipset as output and socketed as a PCI-Express for input. Still, why are you guys so sure that it works in both ways? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Asus G750JW Bios Mod

You will not get much benefit as 780m is quiet a strong video card. Not much point in running an external video card attached to an external display when you have similar performance from 780m. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Easyflash is ok to use for original Asus bioses, winflash just needs to be uninstalled. When I moded my bios on Asus G750JW I used Afudos. Also, there is another part, the ME region, that can be dumped and wrote back. If you have any issue, or as an extra step of confidence you can dump the whole EEPROM chip, I used an old computer with a lpt port and for software used spipgm at that time. If you look here you can see 2 videos from the dump process and pictures how to build your own cable. Either my URL was removed by mods, or I fogot to paste the link, so there is no "if you look here". Send me a PM for URL or wait a little and I will try to move images from that forum here later today. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Not getting this exactly, so if I have a wifi card on mPCIe slot, can I add then some adapter/splitter so I can add a mSATA and the wifi card on the same physical slot? Flash descriptor is unlocked for me, but anyway what needs to be changed in fitc? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Yes, you need DSDT methods to read and set screen brightness, but those alone won't work without efi string I guess in your case. So, besides Q0E and Q0F methods or PNLF device, you need to inject the efi string of your video card. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. You should add a kext to let your fn keys interpret brightness , you need ACPI functions/methods in your DSDT and also you need to inject an efi string probably to get that working. If you look in preferences under display, do you have a slider to adjust the brightness? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. A good start point would be to start reading the FAQ. It did miracles in some cases. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
  23. According to this post Fugger seems to got more options in his XTU due to his bios(or ME). Extremely interesting would be the ability to change peg/dmi ratio, which is doing nothing for him anyway, but is a good start point for investigations. http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?288099-Overclocking-CyberPower-Fangbook-4700MQ-Corsair-Vengence So next point would be to get a dump of his bios and ME firmware, right? Also it explains why I'm limited to 102.5 bclk with my discrete graphics, unfortunately don't know if I can really disable it with my integrated being disabled from factory. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
  24. Nice. But did you at least tried running setup 1.3 from nando to recompact pci space or is this not working on macbooks? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. You would need to make your own connector from ultrabay to pci express 8x (or 16x), but so far i've seen no succes on egpu area with lenovo y series. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
