It looks a bit like 8bit Color depth. But have no idea where it comes from.

You can switch off your internal by hitting Fn+F7 (OSD has to be installed), reboot and install nvidia driver again.

i had the same problem with optimus, the 980M runs in a idle mode all the time and that's it. to use a 2. pc is not the only way to change your hdd to gpt. if I am not wrong in win 7 is a way to use diskpart before install Windows, maybe that works in win 10 also. think you can ask google how to make it

i never used win 8 or 8.1 for this. i just upgraded from win 7 to 10 and after that i made a clean win 10 install. think i used a 2. pc to change my ssd to gpt, not really sure, it's so long ago

if you choose uefi you have to reinstall windows and your harddrive must be in gpt format. "Load Legacy Option Rom" must be "Disabled", "Secure Boot" must be "Disabled" and "Windows 8 Fast Boot" must be "Disabled". after complete reinstall switch the internal of, reboot and install the nvidia driver again (i had to remod the driver inf because the id of my 980M has changed) i think thats all edit: and if your headphone Jacks are not working on Windows 10 you just need the correct driver

You'll find it in the download area for your R4 on dell Website. Maybe you have to switch the OS to Win 8 or 8.1 (on the website, not on your R4) to get the download for the A13.

I used the A13 Bios in my R4 with a 980M. Booting in PEG and everything works fine. Maybe you can try this.

Ah ok, i did not know that. Then you have the same Problem like me with my M17xR4. I had to reinstall Windows with optimus on, then switch optimus off and everything was fine. Think ist because the efi did not recognize the GTX 980M. Sry in this case i can't help you.
-
Do you use optimus in your alienware or peg only? Which Version of Windows are you using?
-
Hello mclovin, i think your GTX 980M is new, right? I'm not really familiar with the Alienware 18, but maybe you have the same problem as me with my M17xR4. Do you have switchable graphics on or peg only?

Sry i've no experience with this system AND windows 10. I only used Windows 7 when i had M17xR3 with a 780M and had no problems with sound or anything else. Maybe anybody else can help you.
-
I think thats a bad idea. You are using a 75W heatsink on a 100W graphics card. Its much better to use a 100W heatsink.
-
hmm 5 days old, but maybe you still need help. it's possible that your graphics card died or perhaps it only has connection problems. you can try to plug it out of its slot and plug in again. you can check in bios if it works or not, on the main page you see "Discrete Graphics 1" that can be "Nvidia GFX" or "Not present". if you dont know how to do, there is a very good teardown video on YouTube.
