  1. Out of everything I like RAT 7 the most... very nice job
  2. you should say that to Brian who was considering to get a mac book LOL Welcome to the forum btw!
  3. Hey Wayne, glad to have you on board, I am concerned about the quality and the durability of the new coating myself... I guess there is only one way to find out, there are owners of the laptop that carry it around a lot so the wear and tear of the rubber will have to show.
  4. Liquid tension experiment 2 acid rain Biaxident http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKm7C21TV5U
  5. Excellent job man, much appreciated and thanks for sharing your creation and your experience with us, could you make a rough estimate of the cost of the materials (considering that someone might have to buy everything) and the time it took you?
  6. you will be surprised to see how low you have to set TDP/TDC for prime95... I was shocked
  7. 2 XMs killed? wow that's the cost of a laptop if you think about it, very expensive hobby you have indeed
  8. Nice, all we need now is to confirm if the screen options will include an RGB-LED one (but I doubt it...)
  9. They degrade but not that fast... probably with a retention mod and a new reapplication of the thermal paste you will be good. I have noticed that my cpu retention mod needs calibration every week or something cause I am pretty sure the screws get loose (I only use 2).
  10. Those validations are really impressive!! seems like I will have a really hard time beating those and I don't expect to do it anytime soon... But don't worry, if anything was fried on your mobo or cpu you wouldn't be able to boot or you would BSOD even when doing nothing even at stock clocks. In general, since we have a very specific Watt range that we can play with, you need to make sure you won't exceed that, and then try to find what settings allow you to remain within those limits and don't exceed your Tj of your CPU or GPU. After you solve the power supply limitations, cooling should be your main concern.
  11. I try to find my stable GPU clocks without CPU overclocking and after I am sure I can finish a benchmark run with those clocks then I start messing with the CPU, I try to see how much I can increase the TDP/TDC to keep the total wattage consumption within acceptable limits for the PSU wprime v1.55 1024M stresses my CPU too much so I cannot maintain the x25 multiplier, nonetheless I can keep it cold enough in order to finish it in 229 seconds I have 3% OC from the BIOS but not voltage increase.
  12. Why black though? What was wrong with the red...
  13. Ok here you go, how to change the cluster size: http://forum.techinferno.com/storage/210-how-change-cluster-size-windows.html
  14. It is very easy actually, you have to type like 6 commands at the beginning of Windows installation and you are all set. I will make a thread so you can follow the instructions or post any problems you might encounter.
  15. I think so far we all are playing that waiting game mostly out of curiosity for the extras (I personally wait for the screen and the chassis material), otherwise it is easy to predict how well 2x6970M combined with a 2920xm can perform... (even though we still have our doubts about TS and whether the bios will allow it to transform this CPU or not)
  16. +1 and of course we don't forget Parabola http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RiV_ue-PbL4&feature=related
  17. Infernia here you go, Vantage scores: ATI drivers 11.4 beta, CPU @ 3.579 GHz for all 3 runs so it won't affect the GPU scores Single 5870 stock clocks: 9909 ImageShack® - Online Photo and Video Hosting CFX 5870 stock clocks: 17106 ImageShack® - Online Photo and Video Hosting CFX 5870 @ 950/1220: 20437 (First Alienware M17x -R2 to hit 20K+ on vantage only here on Tech|Inferno) ImageShack® - Online Photo and Video Hosting
  18. HAHAHAHAHAHAH dude.... awesome, back to the future for you I guess
  19. Yeah cheating is a real turn off, at least for me, I play for the experience not to win, and one reason to get the game as early as possible is to enjoy playing without cheaters...
