This is what I consider portable for gaming!

I suggest both of trying NVIDIA an older driver version like the 340.52 and/or 337.91 to see if this stuttering problem persists.
There are much evidence pointing towards lower signal fault tolerance in the newer 344.xx drivers, which can cause the driver to crash, give total black screen or stop responding.
I hope it helps!
EDIT: Please use DDU to uninstall your drivers.

OK. What driver version? I'd suggest test revert back to 350.42 to see if the problem persist.
Edit: please use ddu for uninstall

@jjbron (jjfish?)
What PSU are you using atm (12V amp rating)? Forgive me if I asked this already.

Looks like it regulates from another AC PSU
HDPLEX-250W-Hi-Fi-DC-ATX-Power-Supply (16V-24V Wide Range Voltage Input)
Near the bottom of the gallery page (will have to click "Gallery") it has is showing an external PSU.
Hmm, I like the idea!
For me it's all about finding space in the Akitio Thunder2 Box and this would probably not fit.
One part I would like to have from the HDPlex is the DC jack, I would replace the existing one for this one,
then I would a modular thick 4-pin solution to split and hook up straight to the x16 interface and GPU.

I'm following your every move since I too have the same problems.
My conclusion so far is that the faulty implemented power limits by Zotac starves the card hence making the voltage run up and down all over the place, this might cause problems for the DA-2(?).
There is now a unlocked BIOS available for all most all GTX 970/980 here (overclock . net). I will test to up my power limit so that the card can have some stability w/o throttling due to power limit. Hopefully the DA-2 like this better.
Keep up the good work buddy, I'm sure we'll find the answer to this!
EDIT: Jesus, T|I what's up with auto censuring of URL's? Extremely annoying and childish!

One more thing, and this is somewhat important to me. Can anyone confirm whether nvidia Gamestreaming works over pe4l expresscard connections?
Good choice, I hope you got a non coil-whiny one =) (seems like the GTX900 series has a lot of that going on)
I don't see why it shouldn't work with limelight and gamestream, I mean your system is a legit system only on a crippled bus (compared to a GEN1/2/3 x16 bus).
I'm thinking testing my rapsberry pi as a limelight receiver since the concept is really neat!

Yeah, I've only made my enclosure to fit a mini GTX670 + EXP GDC w/o PSU room.
I'm not entirely sure how the HDPlex actually works, is it a stand alone PSU or does it regulate 19V to 12V from another AC PSU?

Sorry guys, I've busy with work for the last weeks. I'll update the thread with the new Beast adapter as soon as I can. Thanks @Tech Inferno Fan for posting news in the thread!
Regarding my Da-2 + GTX970 problem:
I had the GPU replaced and I still face the same blackout problem. Atm i can't recommend using the DA-2 with the maxwell 970 or higher. I'm currently waiting for a Thunder2Box to test with. Other variables could be the NVIDIA 370xx driver series, so that will be my next step of troubleshooting.

I guess Win+P -> Projector only doesn't do much for you? Try update 'check for hardware changes' in device manager too, sometimes I need to disconnect and connect twice to get external screen output.

Nice buddy!!
You will need to inactivate the dGPU in order to enable Optimus compression. The result should be that you only see the iGPU and eGPU in device manager.

Yeah 40A on the 12V+ rail, no problem there =)
Sounds like you might need Setup 1.x to allocate the card to the PCI bus. Talk to @Tech Inferno Fan!
DO you have possibility to test your EXP GDC on another system?

An ANTEC 520W M (Édit : My bad, I Will give you the amperage when I'm back home !)
So, after 2h I'm admit my defeat... i've test with 2 cards (GTX970 and 8800GT) and 2 differents PC (Asus g74x, and old MSI), the CG never pop up, I think its due to the ATX, i'm will wait for the dell DA-2 for more test.
Did you find that amperage rataing?
Take a photo with your phone on the ratings label so that I can check it =)
-
Thx buddy, today I receive everything ! ATX, GTX970 and the EXP GDC V7 with ATX cable !!!, all seem to work, the GTX light UP, the PC detect something, but when i go to see if the CG is detect, there nothing new... an idea ?
What power supply do you use?
I'm interested in the amperage on 12V rail, should be labeled on the casing.

Nice buddy!
I'm almost sure it has thunderbolt

Are you planning to use a riser too?
If you solder and split to a molex (for powered riser) or barrel plug (for the Akitio female) you should be good. Which card are you planning to use?

Yep, that's the Mickey mouse / DA-2 that has been replaced by a regular PCIe 6pin. The blue and ground must be shorted to have the DA-2 running, I suggest some kind of switch so that you don't need to pull the cord to power off.

Test all combinations of saving/restoring the white listing:
1. Saving mPCIe1 -> restoring mPCIe2
2. Saving mPCIe1 -> restoring mPCIe1
3. Saving mPCIe2 -> restoring mPCIe1
4. Saving mPCIe2 -> restoring mPCIe2
I remember having some issues myself a long time ago and I did this random attempt to make it not being stuck in "gathering resources to build screen"
You don't happen to have any other mPCIe card you could try this method with?
-
Adding a molex beside the PCIe 6-pin is easy if you're willing to solder some wires?

@Kaas93 Yeah that should work! Make sure to use resistors since 5V is a bit too much for the leds.
Edit: my phone didn't open your link but I guess the led strip run off of 5v?

@AAG
Yeah I'd definitely go for the Beast!
Edit: He should of course know if it's compatible with the metal enclosure, perhaps you misunderstood each other?

In my backwoods I can not find an apple store)))
Where can I find a list of mobo revisions that with Thunderbolt? My mobo revision is PN: 60-NMMMB1200-C02(C02) and 69N0N8.....C02(01)
Alright, then you'll need to disassemble the notebook a little bit to lift the keyboard out:
The red marking is where you find Mobo revision.

Oh wwan slot, that might very possible be your problem since not all/many wwan slot are PCIe connected. The WLAN slot is often PCIe connected

Hi guys. My asus g46vw has MiniDisplayPort. Will the Firmtek Thunderbolt Adapter to work? Thunderbolt and MiniDisplayPort are similar.
The mini display port might be thunderbolt depending on your mobo revision, the easiest way to check this, before buying the Firmtek adapter, is to go to an Apple Store or similar and test it with a Thunderbolt monitor. I would not buy anything before that.
