I got mine working on the 60Hz version, but heard the 120Hz screen shouldn't have a problem either. You need to booting with UEFI and not Legacy though - which (I think) also means you need to be running windows 8. Someone correct me if I'm wrong though.

I'm currently using my M17xR4 with my newly installed GTX 980m Using the drivers from the Eurocom guys, there doesn't seem to be any throttling whatsoever. (Here's where I got it from: Index of /support/drivers/upgradeyourlaptop/Alienware ) Though I would like to know how they go about modding the drivers to make them work for the laptop and prevent the throttling issue? Does anyone know?

I thought the reason people were doing flashes, was to prevent this throttling issue? Or is there another reason? -

Seems I won't have to any more - I downloaded the drivers from here: Index of /support/drivers/upgradeyourlaptop/Alienware Fairly new drivers for my GPU, and no throttling. Though I would like to know how the mod the drivers to work? -
Used to. Got too competitive for me though. Prefer casual play - and games that don't restrict you eating at the correct times XD

Sorry to bump this, but I've just followed those instructions - got it working. But now I've got the throttling issues.

This might be a noob thing to ask - but is it safe to flash the card? I've heard (and I'm not sure if these are rumors) that doing a flash can render your card a brick.. I'm in a bit of a conundrum here - as I have the throttle issues with my new GTX 980m, but I don't really want to risk anything breaking XD -
