  1. Hi all, long time no see. KLEM, I hope you and yours are safe and well. I need your help with my Y510P 755m SLI laptop. I have deleted the factory keys and need to do a Crash Recovery, followed by a modded v3.08 BIOS flash. The modded v3.08 BIOS you made for me years ago has been corrupted. Would you mind making a new modded v3.08 BIOS to include SVL7's update and the VBIOS update for a Nvidia 755m? If there are new updates for this let me know. I can send you everything I have via ZIP to wherever you wish, it's to large to post here, about 19 MB's. I also need the Yx01.bin Crash Recovery file to restore the factory setup keys. You wouldn't happen to have a copy of that would you? Anyone? That's it. Can you help me out?
  2. Hi all. Thanks for the modded BIOS v3.08. It works well on my Y510p 755m SLI. I was wondering if there is a version that OC's the primary 755m to 1098MHz as SVL7's v3.05 does? If not may I request one or a patcher if possible.
  3. So everything seems fine with 3.08 here. Soon after flashing MS pushed me the Creators Update which hosed my OS to a fresh reinstall. I was tempted to install v1607 of Win10 but a fresh install of v1703 via USB using Media Creation Tool works well. After that I had the SLi bug appear. This is a documented issue with Windows, my solution may have been either the system BIOS re-flash, the driver update, or the removal of the 2nd 755m - boot and wait FIVE minutes (you were advised) for Windows to install the Intel GPU - boot and replace the 2nd 755m. We'll never know. @relent FWIW I'd try re-flashing the system BIOS.
  4. @Klem Done and done. the sendspace link is in your TInferno messages. I really appreciate this. I'm probably going to need a donation link for you too. BTW, thanks for being patient.
  5. @Klem: Just to verify, you need me to flash to the Lenovo official stock 3.08 BIOS from the Lenovo website then send you the backup. Is this correct?
  6. @Klem: Got it. Will do ASAP, it may take a few days as I'm seriously under the weather so please be patient. And thanks.
  7. I just wanted to say a mondo Thank You to SLV7 and all those who helped stuff this thread with all the info here. THANK YOU ! I was able to successfully flash my Y510P's BIOS\EC and video BIOS using nothing but the files posted here and your knowledge. Now I'm ready to try Klem's v3.08 modded, hope he replies soon. For those who come later, when I got stuck I found the info on pgs.70 - 82 most helpful. I hope you can avoid having to read the thread nearly in it's entirety. I'm off to buy some folks some beers......
  8. Hi all, a bit of help please. backup.bat will not create a backup BIOS file. It stops with the error: "ftpw64 is not recognized as a internal, external command, operable system or batch file" I am running it from an Admin cmd prompt. I've even disabled the antivirus software There is an Error log note: "Error 284: Fail to load driver (PCI access for Windows). Tool needs to run with an administrator priviledge account. Any solution? y510p, win10 64 home, 755m sli, bios 3.05 stock. EDIT: I'm further along. After moving the directory to the root drive C:\ when running backup.bat I see this: ------ C:\WINDOWS\system32>cd c:\ c:\>pause Press any key to continue . . . c:\>cd fptw64 c:\fptw64>pause Press any key to continue . . . c:\fptw64>fptw64 -d bios.bin -bios Intel (R) Flash Programming Tool. PMXUtil: Error during PMX Call: idrvdll.dll!IDRVInstallDriver(): Failed to start loaded service err: 2 Error 284: Fail to load driver (PCI access for Windows). Tool needs to run with an administrator priviledge account. c:\fptw64>pause Press any key to continue . . . ------ Any help appreciated.
  9. Has anyone done a modded version of BIOS 3.08? I have looked into it but this is above my talent range. Any help would be great.
  10. Hi foghat617, you can drop temps quite a bit if you replace any paste with high quality thermal pads. GIYF for finding brands that exceed paste performance which is usually 6 Watt/m-K. HTH
  11. Hi riazet, from what I've read there is no backflashing from BIOS v1.08 but I am not sure, I am certain someone else here such as svl7 could answer this.I am hoping he will answer my request about the v1.08 BIOS being modded. EDIT: My question was answered but I almost missed it. My apologies,
  12. Hi all, new to the forum and my first post too so please forgive me if I make mistakes. My last PC had a standard BIOS, my new laptop has UEFI so I'm way behind the curve and trying to catch up. I understand v3.08 addresses security issues but that's about it, still I would like to install a modded/unlocked version of it Is there a modified/unlocked version for UEFI 3.08? Thanks in advance for any help offered!
