  1. I have a question concerning the flashing of a 880M from an AW17 bought in early 2015 (AW17-R1). My concern is that the original 880M bios backup size differs from the modded 880M bios made by svl7. my original bios size is 169984 bytes (backed up with nvflash 5.136 under dos) Version 80.04.F5.00.07 (P2053-0002) from 12-March-2014 svl7 modded bios is 170496 bytes (from Nvidia GTX 880m - 'OC edition' - rev00.zip) Since I am quite a novice about flashing roms I would like to take extra precautions before flashing my 880M. So my question is : Shouldn't both roms be of equal size ? (original and modded one) It would be great if svl7 himself or any other expert could enlighten me about this issue. thanks
  2. I second to that, I also enjoyed playing RAGE with both keyboard for shooting FPS parts and controller for the driving parts
  3. I am in the same boat. I have read few sparse answers on the net that the 330W PSU was fully compatible with the AW17R1 (AW17R1=AW M17xR5) but nothing fully certified. If someone trusty could confirm that it would be great.Thanks.
  4. Maybe you should check for your power options profile (set to high performance). Also you need to use other tools to check if your CPU & GPU are suffering from throttling (mostly due to overheating or insufficient PSU). Few useful tools are Intel Extreme Utility (XTU), HWinfo64 and ThrottleStop. Be careful though with XTU since it can brick your bios if not properly used (just use it to bench and do stress test and everything will be fine).
  5. Dell/Alienware are making a big shift from their past line up. Adios CPU/GPU upgradability. Adios BD/DVD reader/writer. Let's see where have I seen that before ... ? ... A.P.P.L.E of course !!! A couple of years ago Apple decided to remove the DVD unit and solder their RAM in their Macbook Pro line. Many users complained about their decision. Now Dell is following their path. Dell is clearly moving away from the hardcore market towards the consumer market. Upgradability is sacrificed under the name of cost reduction and simplification. The killing blow was the removal of the AW 18 line. I am happy being an owner of an AW 17 (R1).
