  1. Yup, it's soldered, but if you could somehow get it off just google the socket and see what other CPUs you could fit in there. Beware of the TDP limit though because the cooling system may not be able to handle a 57w processor from haswell.

  3. Yeah, y510p is a solid device. Only problem is that turbo boost gets disabled if the GPUs are stressed to prevent thermal throttling (I used throttlestop before to stop throttling, CPU would throttle if I set the multiplier)

  5. 1. Yes, 1080p has twice the pixels as 720p 2. It really is, that's less than 100dpi on a 15.6inch screen 3. I think so, I recall seeing some 1080p panels on Amazon.
