  1. I've tried many things and couldn't make gtx 970 work with internal screen but as many people with same laptop reported is working on windows 8.1 I'm downgrading. If anyone finds a fix with windows 10 please post it.
  2. Y510p owner too, and I succeed using internal screen and extern screen. Didn't do anything special, just slv7 bios mod -> disable dGPU(no need to uninstall driver) in Device Manager-> set display to UMA only in BIOS -> plug in exp-gdc and GTX970 -> install official driver and everything works well, internal screen and extern screen all good. What graphics card are you dealing with? If you are using internal screen only , you must have iGPU in your PC and use N card GT4** or higher A gtx 970 with the y510p windows 10, but just works with external display. Maybe is becuase of windows 10?
  3. How can I get internal screen to with Nvidia? When I try to run a game it closes just after it opens. Setup: gtx 970, 500w psu, Pe4c version 3.0. Just got Nvidia card because of play on my laptop screen. Help.
  4. Can someone help me, because I can't get my egpu work with internal screen. On Bios changed I've as same as someone posted, Do I need special drivers? Pd. y510p here, slv7 bios mod.
  5. Can you share instructions please, I doing this with y510p sli!! Thanks.
  6. Hey I'm interested can you pics please. Also anyone here with egpu plays planetside 2?, this game is very cpu intesive or other cpu intesive games because I feel like this i7 is still strong enough to handle them but 750m sli isn't.
  7. Well I didn't noticed much difference, one thing what I feel it's that booting time it's slower compare to 8.1 and also the fan mod that doesn't start automatically but I start it manually. Also on drivers, Nvidia newer drivers gave me problems with sli only on planetside 2, I had graphical issues lots of glitches but just rolled back to older drivers and it was fixed but this more nvidia side and not windows 10 or 8.1 because it happens in both. One thing I hate from Windows 10 it's the automatic updates because it updates Nvidia drivers, TouchPad drivers so make sure you block windows from updating drivers you don't want. So this is a my little review of Windows 10 on y510p.
  8. I can go up to -137, with nvidia inspector. BTW, which method are you using? PD. I don't if it's just me but I can only undervolt when plugged in(with unlocked bios).
  9. What steps you do to make it portable?, for example: changing things on bios, reinstalling drivers, etc... I ask because I want to know, if it worth the trouble aside of performance gain but portability also.
  10. But will I have problems with drivers because from what I know, drivers from for example a gtx 970 aren't compatible with gt 750m. So will I have to Uninstall, install drivers?
  11. I have question: do I loss portability when doing this? For example: I will be playing at home with the egpu, but then I want to play somewhere else with 750m sli, what should I do?
  12. Maybe this can help you, I had and old hhd caddy but it didn't fit so used a sandpaper to reduce it's size, then i inserted and was working fine but suddenly one day it stopped working it wasn't detected on bios neither on windows but even leds on the caddy where working but without color changes it does while reading or writing. What I did is removed the caddy and see if there was something blocking the connector and yes there was something in it. The thing went inside because of caddy was to tight that peel off some gray plastics inside.
  13. I used to have the exact same problems, but changing the hhd with a ssd (I just cloned it without a clean windows install) and boom! all problems are plus the OS feels faster especially when lauching apps.
  14. I disassembled my y510p a month ago, and I lower the temperature like 5c less, so yeah clean does help lowering the temps.
