I bought two of them a few months ago, and they're very nice for the design work I do. The reality is that each one is a 2x2 1080p monitor array, so with proper layout management its like having eight displays while only needing two.

Adding into this, mine was 10 months out of warranty and a call to corporate was al it took to strong-arm them into replacing it.

Are there long-term issues of doing this? Running the monitor significantly above-spec? I have some interest in something along these lines.

Well, when one component grows too warm, it can trigger the thermal override throttling in other components. So it's certainly possible.

I'd love to know the answer to this, too. As far as I can tell by spending the morning on here reading, it's possible to exchange the motherboards, yes, but I'd love to know from someone who has done this.

Wait, am I to understand that I could replace my M18x R1 motherboard with an M18x R2 motherboard?

I think I've got a similar issue to this one, with regards to reflowing, has anybody had any experience doing this with a toaster oven?

Is this all the required steps to remove the GPU's as well? Or will I need to do further disassembly for that?
