  1. I've only gone higher on the VRAM with +500MHz reaching 3000MHz which gave me an impressive performance boost as you can see here NVIDIA GeForce GTX 870M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-4810MQ Processor,Notebook P15SM-A. Can't go any higher on the core without increasing volts and Watts and considering my power supply is 180 Watts I really can't go any higher than this.
  2. Thank you very much Klem. I've used that bios you made for me as guideline for customizing with Kepler Bios Tweaker and what I discovered is that the third and fourth to last entries in the power table are actual power targets(already saw that in the OC Bios but since that was heavily customized I wasn't sure). So what I ended up doing was setting the Def and Max of those 2 entries to 125000mW(That's all I've modified from stock). Doing so gave me some pretty impressive results as I was able to go 1050Mhz on the core and 2750Mhz on the VRAM using inspector, what is more impressive though is that gpu boost was doing his own job with the voltages so that it was stable under stress(3D Mark11) by giving it automaticly 1.37V. Temps never even reached 80C. The 3D Mark11 score was also very good as it reached a score of 7807 in the Graphic Score and all of this while still being able to run any games on battery.
  3. Any improvements worth noting for the new ECs for P15xSM-A & P17xSM-A and P370SM-A, P375SM-A & P377SM-A? Clevo never publishes any kind of changelogs when they update that stuff...
  4. Yes that's because the stock bios regulates the frequency according to power consumption which means that under 3d mark11 it won't run at +80 on the core for most of the time since it's a very intensive task. You could easily see that if you use msi afterburner overlay to see gpu frequency while you're running the test. You can solve this with the OC Edition bios of svl7 however that, atleast at me, breaks the ability to play any games while on battery. To my understanding if the power target could be increased it would be possible to run up to 1050MHz on the core as the maximum voltage it applies is 1.37 which is enough for that kind of OC(hence why you crash if you go past +80). You could go even higher if the voltage was unlocked however you might wanna make sure you got temperature room for that. May I kindly ask you for that modification too?(This vbios is from my XMG P504) GTX 870m Stock.zip
  5. I think the best tools for testing Video Card OC Stability are EVGA OC Scanner and 3DMark. The first one because it has an artifact scanner so you can see if an OC is unstable before your video driver crashes and then 3D Mark11 to make sure everything is performing as it should.
  6. Well slim laptops with those video cards are coming for sure just like they did with gtx 870(not the 880m though). An example is the XMG C504 15.6" which is thick only 20.9mm aswell as the razer blade 14" with just 17.8mm(even though that is overpriced in my opinion). Both are not clevo though... But since others are doing it clevo might aswell follow.
  7. Hi svl7, I would like to ask if it's possible to have a gtx 870m unlocked bios (adjustable power Target, adjustable voltage) but with still all the stock features enabled like GPU Boost. I know you already have unlocked that vbios(The OC Edition) but I can't get it to work when I'm running on battery. Thank you in advance. GTX 870m Stock.zip
  8. I've reflashed the stock bios and it works on battery as expected but I've also noticed it was highly underclocked(Battery limits). My guess is that the modified vbios doesn't lower the clocks in order to work on battery too.
  9. It seems that running the vbios GTX 870m OC Edition breaks the ability to run any games on battery as the driver just simply crashes. Is there a fix for this?
  10. Hey Prema it seems that there is a new EC version for the P157SM-A as seen on XMG Bios Download Section(P504) as the reported version is 1.03.05. Just letting you know.
  11. How are you guys with clocks and temps? It seems that I cannot go over +30Mhz/+100MHz/+25mV as I reach 90C... I've been testing temps and stability using OCCT with error checking. I'm on a P157SM-A. Update: It seems that OCCT isn't really appropriate for testing OC stability as now I'm using EVGA OC Scanner with artifact scanner and temps proved to be lower in every test allowing to reach stability at +83MHz/+200Mhz/+50.0mV with temps never crossing 84C. 3D Mark11 graphics score of 7768.
  12. Are any of those modded GTX 870m vbios available anymore(can't find them anywhere)? I would love to be able to run this card around 1050/1075 as I see kingkaan was able to reach 1100, also does this kind of oc have a big impact on battery life?
  13. I've had both Glossy and Matte and I must say that the right choice really depends on your needs because if you plan on using it indoors then I'd say glossy all the way as the colors are just better but if you are going to use it outside I'd say go for the matte as the glossy screen really struggle in the sunlight compared to the matte. In my opinion the matte screen is the way to go because it goes everywhere and the colors are still really good.
  14. Laptop Setup: XMG P504 Intel i7 4810MQ nVidia GTX 870 16GB Vengeance Crucial M550 mSata 120GB Western Digital Black 750GB Dekstop Setup: Asus Crosshair V Formula AMD FX 8150 Corsair Vengeance 8GB 2133MHz Sapphire HD6990 Asus HD 6970 Corsair Force GT 120GB Even though my desktop has got plenty more power I actually prefer using the laptop as it's way less noisy aswell as not being a power hungry beast like my desktop is.
  15. Ok so I went ahead and installed Prema Bios with cool fan profile and it seems to make slightly less noise then stock with the trade off that the fan never turns off when doing non-intensive stuff(web browsing). Still, altough it offers alot of features(and I really mean alot) I haven't seen anything regarding the fans power curves apart from when it asks cool or silent profiles during the flashing. And dvanwag you were right the install process is really dummy proof.
