  1. I had that same problem. I unplugged my HD and put it in another PC, it ran through the windows "Configuring PC". This seemed to reset things. Then when I pulled the HD and put it back into the Lenovo it finally booted doing the "Configuring PC", which then I guess synced up with the BIOS. I wonder if there is something to force this.

Is it piggy backed on the network card(Wireless) or a separate chip?
  3. I downgraded to 207 and can do SLI and have no issues. I have a KN1202 card in and SSD drive. My "budget" machine just became badass.
  4. Yes, but i had it working before the BIOS changed. I messed with some settings in BIOS and now it seems to work. Its funny i put the HD back in my old PC and it rebuilt (Configuring devices), then messed with my bios and put it back in the y510p and it did the same thing now working.
  5. I downgraded the BIOS from t305 to 207,. then hacked it. I now have a KN1202 Wireless card and a SSD which i just swapped from my sager..works great.
  6. SO i messed with the BIOS then tried my SSD again after i put it in my other laptop. Now it went throught the setting up devices and works. So y510p with 755M SLI and Killernetworks card installed PLUS 512SSD by Crucial
  7. So I received my y510p. I took the SSD from my SAger Bp6110 and put it in the Lenovo. Switch bios to legacy and bam it booted and all was good. Then i downgraded bios from 305 to 207 so i could hack it to install my Killer Networks card. Now when it boots windows it gives me that "Windows couldnt start" and goes to a repair mode. Since then i put back in the stock drive. I really want to get the SSD working, what do you think the issue is?
  8. Which Bios are you running? Im runing 2.07 now, downgraded from 305. BUt when the SSD boots it starts windows, then says there was a problem. I put the 5200rpm drive inm and it works. Is there a limitation why this would be failing? How can I clone it to the SSD? Good news is I installed the better network card.
  9. i was asble to do the mod, went from 305 to 207/..but the laptop wont recognize teh SSD i put in...i had to put the OEM one back in. ANy reasons?
  10. I down graded to 2.07. I switch the settings, Now windows isnt booting, I should tell you i installed a SSD drive so maybe thats why. Going to put the old hardrive back in an upgrade back to 3..05
  11. I would just pull the 5200RPM HDD and swap for a SSD. I did this on a SSD from my old laptop and it worked flawless. I had to downlioad some drivers but windows took care of the rest.
  12. Is there a reason why they arent making 3.5 writable? It seems they want to limit the consumer for some reason?
  13. I suggest Microcenter if you have one in your area. They have a great selection. I even took them out of the box and plugged them into the display laptops to see ho quite/effective they were.
