  1. Hi! You will need a 40pin 17.3" Lcd but first you need to locate where is a connector on your current lcd. I mean it can be left or right sided and if you chose wrong one you will not reach to it with yours display cable. P.S. This advice is only for non 3D model if yours is 3D you'll need a 17.3" 3D 60pin LCD.
  2. Hi! You can use a normal hdd caddy but you'll need to screw a plastic bracket from yours ultrabay because without it your ultrabay lock will not work and I think it will not sit tight enough. Or you can by Lenovo's ultrabay caddy and it will do the job or by a hdd usb 3.0 pocket either.
  3. I dropped temperature!!! I'm happy as never before! I used a coollaboratory liquid metalpad and it's works! My max temps in games dropps pretty good in same loads previously where I got on my integrated gpu 750m 75 - 85C I got now stable 70C MAX on the ultrabay 750m I reached max 93 - 97C now it's stable 83C MAX! All test where done without overclocking and in room with temperature of 22C. I got some problems with applying this metal pads on cpu and gpu at first time I put there one layer of metal and it was not enough so after second attempt I put the 3 layers of metal and heated a radiator on motherboard with hot air to 80C. Then I assembled laptop and launched furmark on it for 10 minutes to heat a gpu and melt metal pad for better contact after it I let it chill for a while and started game testing and results where just perfect after all my pains)) P.S. In ultrabay gpu I put same 3 layers of this metal.
  4. In WoT garage it's "hot as hell" I scored 97C MAX according to the Open hardware monitor and Nvidia Inspector's log temperature in my room is 22C. Temperature in battle is 88C MAX at 30 - 50 Fps on Maximum settings in other games I don't reached more then 88C. Cooling pad will not help! I tried a CM Notepal U3 and it's useless! I tried to remove a back cover and maximal temperature was 82C! The only way to chill this laptop is the way to mode a back cover or remove it))) I'm waiting for a delivery of Coollaboratory Liquid MetalPad to repaste an ultrabay's gpu with it because normal paste do not help in my case... I forgot to tell that built in gpu and cpu didn't come over 75\85C per core in testing. Only problem is overheat of ultrabay's gpu. If some one knows better solution then my please reply!!! Thanks))
  5. Hi if You can do something with a fan speed please let me know! I tried NVidia inspector and its helps to keep temperature above 83C but in games I noticed that there is a little fps drops sometimes... It's kind of shit that Lenovo is making a productivity witch you can't use! I had several gaming laptops before and the temps where nice and no heating of a palmrest but in y510p the side where ultrabay is so hot that I can hold my hand there longer then minute)))
  6. Hi everybody! Is there a way to mode Ultrabay gpu G750 bios for a better cooling I mean to set up maximal cooler rpm like it spins when dust removal is on. Because now its running at 50 or 70%. Thanks!
  7. Hi everybody! Is there a trick to install this recovery discs from a usb drive?! I'm asking because I have a y510p with sli cards so there is no drive. I tried to write it with ultra iso on usb drive but I got an error after installation star. If any body done it from usb or external hdd please respond! Thanks!
  8. Hi everybody! I have the same laptop and same overheating problem. When I play WoT my second (ultrabay) GT750m is hot as hell)) It's reaches 97C and it drop's fps. I'm using 337.88 NVidia drivers from off site I tried a Lenovo driver but in WoT it didn't work. I mean when sli is turned on its showing me an artifacts and performance is like 5-8 FPS... I have a cooling pad (cm notepal u3) I repasted my second gpu... I even tried to take of back cover of a laptop but on turned on cooling pad I reached 91C so its useless action. I heard that people who had this laptop with a preinstalled win8 didn't overheat it at all! This overheating only happens when updating to win8.1 or clean install the os. So could it be that Lenovo updated there os with some drivers or settings which can better cool this laptop or undervolt something to make it cooler. Please can anyone look in to stock lenowo win8 to get that settings. Thanks!
  9. There is a little problem with upgrading VGA You will probably need a heat sink from gtx 670m because there is a difference between GTX660m and GTX670m but there are plenty of them on a markets. Also You can fit in it 32Gb of ram its supports it and it have been checked by a lot of people even my G74SX was working stable with 32Gb of ddr3 1600Mhz. And in G75 probably could be a mSata port for ssd like in a g55 so if its correct you could just buy a msata ssd and put it in without removing one of your hard drives.
  10. May be something as World Of Tanks or War Thunder is the best way to spend all Yours free time and money Also I like Dead Space all editions but it's pretty fast ending and if You like fighting try Remember Me or Metal Gear Rising Revengeance
  11. If You need more mobility and less weight compare to performance mbp is what You need. But if You need high performance in games everywhere You want so g75 will be a better choice. And its upgradeability as fore laptop is outstanding!
  12. Hi everyone! I'm an asus g55vw user and i'm wondering is there a way to modify its bios like in a g75. My current version of bios is 217 but I want all the stuff from moded g75 bios and vbios for my gtx 660m. If here is an instruction or some one can provide me thru whole process by a safe way (I don't want to brick my laptop) that could be grate! Of course I will donate! I'm a newbie in flashing custom bios so I need help of a responsive and competent person.
  13. I'm using Logitech G9 for five years! Fore such period of time it never failed and its very stable and good quality build. I tried to use Cyborg R.A.T.7 but could not get used to it so now it's in a box waiting for better times:tears_of_joy:
