  1. Really Sherlock? 980M is officially supported for a year or so 780M/880M users still need to modify drivers.
  2. I modified another driver, if anyone wants it Im sharing. 390.77 - Added compatibility for M18xR1 - GTX 880M. I used section for M18xR2 so there shouldn't be any issues. @NODice You require newer vBIOS as I remember. nvdmi.7z
  3. Sorry I didn't see your reply. Im not online here often. Download new stock drivers and unpack it. Download old stock drivers and unpack it Download modified INF file for your clevo for old drivers from this thread Use something like WinMerge to see differences between these old stock INF files and modified INF for your laptop You will now see which parts are required for your card to be supported Make same changes in new stock drivers INF file and install it.
  4. Okay, it seems I had to do it myself. Attaching modified 388.10 nv_dispi.inf Added compatibility 880M - Alienware M18xR1 048F nv_dispi.zip Driver link - http://international.download.nvidia.com/Windows/388.10/388.10-desktop-notebook-win10-64bit-international.hf.exe Hotfix 388.10 includes kepler fix for Wolfenstein 2
  5. Ah, didn't know. I thought he always used desktop ones. Im using 382.19 right now I tested M18xR1 and still does not work without mod. Ehh stupid Nvidia could just add compatibility INF like they did with 980M.
  6. Yeah and what about 880M and Alienware M18xR1? Im pretty sure it still needs the mod. By the way we are modding desktop drivers, not notebook. Waiting for someone to mod 388.
  7. Thanks. I will wait for some new game until I install new drivers. I install them only if I need SLI profiles for something fresh on the market. Regards
  8. After installing your last driver 385.41 using desktop base on Alienware M18xR1 with two 880M I couldn't use NVENC in OBS. Reverting to old @J95 driver fixed the issue. Also please include driver link in post you upload INFs as @J95 did. That makes life easier.
  9. Should we use desktop drivers and replace files as j95 did or notebook drivers?
  10. 990M is still likey to be BGA only. No mxm upgrade.
  11. Hey, Becuase of power limits sets in stock bios I've decided to flash SVL7 vbios which has power limits removed. However I get no post, just black screen. Blind flash method is not working as the catrds won't allow me to go through POST. I have unlocked A05 bios. Is there a way to boot using IGFX without dissasembling whole laptop and removing both cards? Regards
  12. Hey, Thanks for the explanation and voltage advices. Yes I have an Alienware M18xR1 with i7-2920XM (ES). I didn't got the cards yet, they're in delivery but im doing everything before so I'll be ready when they come. I've bought two 880M and im doing cooling mod on AMD heatsinks so it'll run even cooler than on NV heatsinks. Have a good day! Regards
  13. Hey, First Big thanks that you even tested it in your laptop. I really appreciate it So basically I have to set base TDP clock to 823,5 then save the bios. Go to boost tab and set max boost to 823,5 then save and it'll result in 823MHz all the time when gaming yeah? Also, will GTX 880M last long on it's default voltage or should I lower it if I want to keep it for 4 years? Regards
  14. Is this set correctly? AFAIK This VBIOS has boost disabled so It will stay on 823 all the time?
  15. Hey, I saw that you work on AlienFX appplication. I can help You. I know C# and PHP, I ran a website making company in Poland before. Contact me if You want help. Regards.
  16. Hey, Is there a vbios for 880M that underclocks it to 780M clocks? Regards
  17. ES works good on flex 0 multiplier: 40/37/35/35. Won't overclock higher because I think this speed is more than enough speed. It's already killing even most of desktop cpu's. Can I post working settings on this forum using ES i7-2920XM cpu? I think it's popular one for Alienware m18x but poeple don't know whether it's worth buying it. Regards
  18. Hello, I have i7-2920XM ES and I would like to know if i set incorrect BIOS performance options will it reset after failed boot or have I to reset it manually and disassemble whole laptop? Regards
  19. Hello, On single gpu systems pcie speed is x16. On dual gpu systems it splits to x8 for a card. You won't have any use for x16 for each card because x8 is much more than single card use, even GTX 880M. So everything works correctly. On my system there are two Radeon HD6990M and x8 speed for each. Regards
  20. Im not 100% sure but I think that in previous version (3-4 earlier) I was able to control fans separately in this app, check previous versions of hwinfo. I don't know what do you need this for, if you flash modified bios then you can change turn-on temperature and fan speed in bios.
  21. Hello, Yes I suppose that too but GDDR5 chips are cheap and reflow service is much more expensive than the chip itself so I will replace it too, better safe than sorry I will also repaste both gpus with Zalman STG-2 thermal paste, great price/quality value. i7-2920XM (ES2) @ 4.0 GHz is running on it and it's cold. Regards
  22. You can use VMTCE, however it will only test up to 512MB of memory running outside of windows. If You can run the windows version on AMD driver then You can test all the memory. I used Alienware built-in diagnostic program. Just hit F12 when booting and choose diagnostics->Video. You can even test each gpu fan separately! Awesome tool. Regards
  23. Hello, I've managed run GPU diagnostic program on the damaged card. Video memory is damaged at position 512 (probably third memory unit, that's why card is working on generic driver that is mapping 256-512MB of memory). I will replace damaged GDDR5 module in next week and tell You the result. If You have any advices then tell me. Thanks for the help. Regards
