  1. I didn't personally put much much effort into looking at what cards will work with stock bios. I went with a Killer N1202. Seems most people champion Intel replacements, but I read a couple of reviews that showed the Killer should best the Intel in most situations I will use the laptop in. Going AC over N to me is just future proofing. My personal network is N and I can't think of many hot sports around town that will be running AC anytime soon.

While I use 4 monitors the stand out is my Crossover 27" 2560x1440. I'm sure we've all heard of the cheap Korean IPS panels, and I took the plunge after much research on the OC boards. Have to say for the price I couldn't be happier. Reports of dead pixels, inconsistent brightness may be true in some situations but my screen is flawless. Highly recommend checking them out, at least to decide you want to spend more on the big name guys
  3. I think the best bet if you want quality wifi performance is to mod the bios. I personally didn't spend much time looking into cards that didn't require a mod. Most folks for the 4xx/5xx series seem to champion Intel cards, but I went with a Killer N-1202. Didn't see any need for AC other than future proof with my current setup, or for wifi around town. Quick comparo of similar Intel/Killer cards which I found interesting. Wi-Fi adapter shootout: Qualcomm versus Intel in an 802.11 battle | PCWorld
  4. My 510p doesn't have the msata connector thanks to Lenovo's brilliant decision to completely remove it on 510p models that don't come pre-installed with such a drive. However I don't see any reason a larger capacity drive wouldn't work. Here's a fellow on Youtube that installed a 60gb msata drive (it's terrible quality video, brace yourself).
  5. Just picked up my y510p SLI the other day with the 1tb + 16gb cache drive. Immediately took that out and swapped in a Samsung 840 EVO 750GB and installed Win7. Boot from cold to desktop takes about 10 seconds, which in reading some other comments here may be a bit slow... Probably Win8 vs Win7 times. Went with the EVO over the PRO as I didn't see any indication that I would truly notice the performance gains (plus the price for the 750 evo was pretty good).
  6. Watch Dogs definitely. I've been drooling over the trailers for months now. Can't come soon enough.
  7. Agreed with the above. However for as simplistic as it may seem, man is it hard! I've got 10 hours into it and still manage to often fail in the first sector... May have to switch to easy and give it a go.
