New Soundcard or Liquid Cooling for GTX 780
mortenmoulder replied to Dismayed Angel's topic in General Desktops Discussion
Do you overclock a lot? Then get the water cooling. Do you think it's worth to get a better soundcard? Then get the sound card. Depending on your motherboard, you might need another soundcard. It's not something you need, but it's something many people want. Me for instance, I don't really know if there is a difference. There might be, but I'd choose the water cooling. -
Wow that is cheap. Especially the Newegg one, with SLI configuration. Unfortunately it's not available anymore, but there's another one with just the i5 in it, which goes for $819: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834312438

Buzzing/Electrical Noise Corsair AX1200i PSU
mortenmoulder replied to Brian's topic in General Desktops Discussion
My friend had the same problem. It's like an electrical coil noise. It's nothing like coil whine, right? His problem was a faulty connection, and he sent it in for RMA and received a brand new one. PSU as well, and the brand was Corsair. -
Favourite desktop brand?
mortenmoulder replied to MyLifeIsTech's topic in General Desktops Discussion
The custom ones Building your own is much more fun, than buying a pre-built one. You can also choose your own brands, which is good. Then you know exactly what's in your PC! If I had to choose a pre-built one.. It would probably be either Dell or Apple. I like the iMac (yes, it's a desktop) because of the sleak design, and Dell for making Alienware. -
Building a new Desktop. Need some guidence or advice.
mortenmoulder replied to DR650SE's topic in General Desktops Discussion
That power supply is way too much. You don't need that much. Why not assemble your own though? I'm sure you can make it cheaper, and it's good because you can choose your own brands. Then you don't have to worry about getting bad brands! -
Macbook Pro vs Windows 8 Laptop

Running Windows on a Mac is easy. If you want to play games (as something major), then why get a Macbook? -
Hoping to make the gaming laptop plunge

I'm not quite sure you can get a laptop with a 780M in it, for about $1800. I know that's maybe 2/3 of the price for the laptop in Denmark (cheapest with 780M).
