  1. I can confirm that the VBIOS are modded same as the original mod with increased -ve voltage offset and the unlocked menu is the same as the original mod. For the step, I will try my best to explain. 1. If you're on v3.05, just download the fptw64 in the first post and run the backup.bat from admin cmd. You will got bios.bin. 2. If not on v3.05, just update from lenovo driver website and follow 1st step. 3. Then open the Bios Fixer for v3.05 and drag&drop the bios.bin, it will make a modified bios as v305Mod.bin. 4. Then open bios by pressing f2 at the lenovo splash screen and enable bios back flash. 5. Download this v2.07 bios, then flash it. 6. Prepare a bootable DOS usb and put everything form the EC folder to the usb. 7. Open bios, set the boot to legacy and legacy first and put the usb on top of the list. 8. After boot into DOS, just type "EC.bat" and enter. It will flash the v3.05 ec. 9. (optional) You can check the ec and bios version at the bios to confirm that you have EC = 3.05 and BIOS = 2.07 10. Boot into windows and open admin cmd, navigate to the bios folder and type "fptw64 -f v305Mod.bin -bios" it will flash the modded bios. 11. If no error, you can reboot and check the bios for unlocked menu. Hope this helps and I take no responsible for anything happen to your laptop. This is what i do and it work perfectly.

  3. hello again. it seems this problem is solved. as you know, intel icore processors 1st generation hold's only 8gb ddr3 memory. in fact, my laptop don't hold's any new ram with memory chip's large than 256mb. Today most of ram's consist some 512mb chips, in that reason MSI laptop don't work. How to Find memory that would be work in msi gx740: it' just so simple! 1st , maximum size of ram 4gb per plank. 2nd, you need a ram with 16 memory chips on it. (4gb devide 16 chips - 256mb per chip) done! look at picture, it should help to you (this is backside, in other side should be the same) Good Luck!

  5. If I remember correctly the Dell 6970M's did not have auto fan control in the R2. You would have to use HWinfo's fan control to automate the GPU's fan's spinup according to GPU temps. Read more about it here.

  6. Hello people, I know I keep poping on here and saying I am going to stick around. Well between Wifey finally have her back surgery and that go very well and me becoming sick I have not really been online chatting these days. I am getting better but still having a very hard time eating solid food and most times am sleeping since I have no energy at all. I have been beta testing 5-6 different android ROMs Kernels and mods and a few games and have been really busy with that. All that hard work is starting to pay off though as I have grabbed some attention as a tester and might just end up with a very low paying job from it but its the advance use of hardware and android that I am after more then pay. Currently running an Asus Transformer Pad TF300T with dock/keybaord. I am running a 1.6GHz OC an highly moded version of droid called CROMI-X 4.3 and love it. its like a netbook but with the coolness of android. Wifey and I are getting Galaxy Note 2 phones real soon an once I do that I will be more active here I hope as I won't be flashing ROMs and kernels all the time on that phone. Really miss gaming with all you guys but hope soon to start working on a new M17x or another laptop like it so I can play some games and not be grumpy all the time when I scew up my tablet LOL. Well I have tapatalk HD so if anyone says hi I will get it. Hope everyone enjoyed there 4-20-2013 I know we did. Well hope your all doing great and I look forward to one day being apart of the inferno game team again. See you all around HOOAH Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T using Tapatalk HD

  7. @Nospheratu yes you can do that. From the series resistor it's a straight run through to the motherboard. If you wanted to put the ID chip inside the laptop, there are a few locations right by the power jack. There is an inductor that is the first thing the ID signal goes to, that would probably be the best place to do the modification. You need to pull the inductor so that the ID wire no longer goes out to the power supply. Because of the skip ROM command, there can't be any other devices on the bus. Then just solder the data pin of the chip to the EC side of where the inductor was and use two jumper wires to ground the other two pins. That should keep it nice and low out of the way of the CPU heat pipe.

  8. It works. You have to make a couple modifications, it doesn't work with the DS2502's third pin floating like it is on the PCB, and you have to convert it to passive power so the motherboard bus master can pull the line low. Here is a guide with pictures and stuff. 330 Watt power supply for Alienware M17x » imsolidstate
