I make this thread for people who have bricked their bios on their r4(not the vbios), since the release of the A05 I have seen multiple people bricking their bios. The solution to this problem is really easy. Go to Drivers en downloads | Dell [Nederland] and download the .exe file. Use winrar to extract this file, you will have a file named like this QBR00EC.fd, rename it to M17R4.hdr. Now format an USB stick to fat/fat 32, and ONLY put this file on it. We are almost done!!! Unplug the battery from your laptop and be sure the power adapter is not plugged in, and put the USB in the eSate(NOT USB SLOT). Now hold the end button and plug in the adapter, your alienware should come back to live now!!!! It will beep some times and restart few times. Note: Leave CMOS battery in, or it wont work Thanks to SVL7/Brian, clearing things up for me, just go back into bios flashing1 point

Update. Well I have been busy with finals and graduation, but I now free and have some progress. Here a submersible pump that I have converted into a non submersible. Also I have started the water reservoir. Alongside I have also shaved off some of the casing to give the reservoir clearance. I have also moved the power source connection now it will be extracted from the old speaker connection. Thoughts?1 point

1) I think it is not the same (5DCN90WW [v8.0.1] vs 5DCN39WW [v2.0.6]) 2) Yes, my y480 have the same bios version when I installed the modified. Make sure you backup your current bios before flashing. Dont worry about 5DCN39WW [v2.0.6] since this version are for both y480 and y580 as stated on the Lenovo website.1 point

You probably had a bad experience with HP's consumer Pavilion notebooks. Their business ones are much much better quality. They have to be.. business environments cannot afford downtime. Saying that, Dell, Lenovo and HP all make great business notebooks. I'd suggest scour the Outlets of each of these to grab a bargain. They have business notebooks in 12-17" size so you can pick which best suits you. The have refurb, remarketted and scratch and dent systems. Refurbished business products https://twitter.com/DellOutlet http://outlet.lenovo.com/ HP Probooks, Dell Vostros and Lenovo Thinkpad Edge are the budget business class systems that tend to have lower grade warranty. HP Elitebooks, Dell Latitudes/Precisions and Lenovo Thinkpads are their premium business class systems with better warranties.1 point

The vbios has to support enduro. Some vbios have it disabled, e.g. the 7970m vbios of the P370wm. I don't really know where exactly the setting is, never had a system which supported enduro so I didn't spend a lot of time on this. I know that there's a bit in the vbios which enables/disables PowerExpress (the technology which was before enduro), but I don't really think that this is still valid for enduro cards... What else besides the vbios... I don't know. Probably needs some bios code as well, yeah.1 point
