1. I'm interested in this because I want to try two 7970ms. I can't afford it right now, but I've been messing with the adapter problem. As we know, the power supply integrates a 1-wire EEPROM and the EC interrogates it to see if its valid or not. I sniffed the 1-wire bus with my logic analyzer when I powered up the board, here is the results: 0xCC - Skip ROM 0xF0 - Read memory command (if it's a 2501) 0x08 - First memory address byte 0x00 - Second memory address byte 0xFB - Should be a CRC of the previous three bytes 0x32 - (2) 0x34 - (4) 0x30 - (0) Skip ROM means that it won't look for a specific ROM because there is only one device on the bus. Then it asks to read starting at 0x0080. The slave then outputs the checksum of the address and command to the master for verification. Then it starts reading out data as the master requests it. In this case it gets "240" and is done. 240 doesn't appear anywhere in the BIOS code, but it does appear in the BIOS settings screen. I don't know how the BIOS checks if its valid or not. I have yet to get a 330W PS and see what the requested string is. An easy hack would be to reprogram the EEPROM in the 330W so that it returns 240 from the appropriate memory location. This is what I plan to test when I get a 330W supply. I'll have to build a 1-wire programmer since they are a little different. Oh and the resistor doesn't really have a special value, it's just a pull-up to VCC since the bus is open-drain, and the devices can only pull it to ground.

 2. I figured out what was wrong with my display being stuck on low brightness and how to fix it. It's CCFL backlit, not LED. The LED controller is probably different. If you have this problem and want to fix it yourself, see here: M17x inverter brightness fix » imsolidstate

 4. Only the 920XM/940XM is worth upgrading to and overclocking via Throttlestop. The i7-7xx and 8xx cannot sustain Turbo Boost for more than a couple seconds (if even that) and are almost pointless upgrades. You can also upgrade your GPU to a 7970m if you mod the heatsink. It all depends on your reasons for upgrading. And it doesn't take much time to upgrade the CPU in almost any MSI machine (they are quite possibly the easiest and fastest to upgrade).

 6. Sooooo... it's high time for a true T|I BF3 session, what about this weekend? Can I count on you? Friday or Saturday evening / night / afternoon or whatever? (Damn time-zones... lol). Please let us know when you have time so we can try to schedule a timeframe which fits as much users as possible. And a call to all... preparation is crucial when it comes to warfare, so in case you haven't played for a while - install all necessary updates and browser plugins so that you're ready, aaaaand install Mumble (!!!) and configure it properly, there's a configuration wizard which you need to run once in order to get the best result. This is a call to all T|I users and lurkers, but especially a call to @iloveb00bs, @Stevenxowens792 (did you ever join us?) @Brian, @StamatisX, @Michael, @mw86, @Jimbo (where the hell are you??), @unreal25, @Xonar, @ConkersGrillforce1337, @Ninjahunter, Staff Sargent & wifey, @widezu69, @deadbydawn, @wbabt007 and all who I forgot to mention... come on!!!

 7. I just ran this bench. And I have to say I am stunned with the score. I think I had the highest score according to 3dmark previous to this run with a 12949. Only thing different is my ram speeds and the removal of the Dell provided ram. Here is the 3dmark link of my before and after benches. Result And a screenie. And this is ran with svl7's 900mhz core vbios.

 8. Sorry it seems that I was still only flashing the bios and not the whole image. Really there is nothing left for me to do except the hardware mod and then try FPTW.

 9. I haven't added the latest OROM yet, forgot about this. Will do so, but I guess Dell is going to release an official version some time soon anyway, so I'm probably going to do it then, will see. Here's the modified dump, it's a bit smaller than the Dell bios updates, but that's just due to some padding bytes which are missing. Flash location should be the same even for the systems which come with A07, so you should be able to flash it safely with the InsydeFlash utility provided by Dell. M18xR2_project-A07.zip

 10. I heard a lot of rumors about the wi-fi antenna not working. But all in all, I tried the tablet and it is a-ma-zing!

 11. My pleasure to help. Now you won't be able to run x1.2Opt unless the NVS4200M can be disabled. Unless your T901 has a bios setting to do that then you will need to use Setup 1.1x to do that. You can automate the process by hitting the F3 key after going manually through the steps you need. The individual commands will be added to your startup.bat after which you can boot Setup 1.1x and select "automated startup via startup.bat", adding ~3secs to your normal Win7 boot process.

 12. First of all, welcome to T|I! Second - yeah, sure... I guess here are some people who can do this, but what exactly are you looking for? Also, do you have some more details? What exactly are you looking for? 'mod my vBIOS' is pretty vague... You'd be pretty surprised what I could do with such a request... hahahaha
