  2. okay in the link to my post i posted this link to the guide by RBE themselves... Tutorial on how to use RBE (Radeon BIOS Editor) | techPowerUp if you check that guide out from RBE's creators them glance at what i mentioned again you should be right on track. For now take time to learn its safer that way. The easiest way to overclock is actually using Saphire Trixx and nothing else at all. it can disable ulps for you (required to overclock both gpus evenly) also that app has profiles and hotkey function and even can start at windows start and automatically set your overclock at start up. So if you'd like simple and effective then Trixx is truly easiest method of all.

  3. if you mean run 3dclocks like i mentioned all time then yes... undervolt is okay for stock clocks or medium overclock... lower volts too much and it will just crash. Overdrive is to be able to overclock as from Catalyst... Sapphire trixx works well too but Overdrive is straight from AMD. The way i posted is just as or involved as the overdrive steps and uses same program but instead of using regular 2d clocks and powersaving... the method i describe locks max speed at all times on the cards... ulps must be disabled. Theres risks involved with flashing so be careful and ask questions if unsure rather than trial and error which could cause a bad flash. "can my M18x cf 6790 run 24/7 if i overdrive and undervolting? I mentioned the undervolt as for running a undervolt at stock clocks and leaving them at full 3d clocks 24/7 it should be safe as long as if you do overclock its not too high since you are lowering voltage. I think i mention in the guide i use fans at max 24/7 too as soon as system boots using Hwinfo and properly making it start as a basic task in task scheduler and adding the command that enables fans to start at launch of hwinfo and minimized... to its config file. Temps will be inherently higher with my method but usually the fans do very well at keeping those temps down... i recommend if your are capable and haven't if testing your system reveals high temps especially on the video cards memory like 90c during gaming then you should attempt a repaste of the stock thermal paste to something that is better. Again hwinfo is a great free program and it also helps with monitoring harware info and temps... like gpu temps etc.

  5. Here is a new benchmark I found on the web. Look at the testing methodology. They are going by SP only... Battlefield 3 Performance: 30+ Graphics Cards, Benchmarked : Battlefield 3 Reinvigorates PC Gaming

  6. I need your system details please. To disable network throttling. (This helps ALL network or online games) 1. Start -> run -> Regedit 2. Choose File -> Export > then export your registry in a safe please in case you mess something up. ( you can import it later) 3. Choose HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> MICROSOFT -> WINDOWS NT -> MULTIMEDIA -> SYSTEM PROFILE 4. Here you will see a setting on the right hand side called "Network Throttle Index" Double Click the actual word NetworkThrottlingIndex. Notice you will see a field called Value Data and a BASE called Hexidecimal and Decimal. In the Value Data change it to read ffffffff. Again that is ffffffff. (that is 8 x f) 5. Make sure you hit ok and then shut the machine down gracefully. (meaning do a full start -> shutdown -> then power off. Then boot back up. viola. Good luck, StevenX

  7. Course, Kill 'em all, Ride the lightning, Master of Puppets and Justice for all are uber-albums when it comes to thrash, no doubt here.

  8. Ixel - Can I ask a favor? In bios, if you max the turbo limits on each option (it doesn't hurt because thats how I run every day 24/7). If you run wprime1024, while also running throttlestop, and sit and watch the multiplier plus actual speed, how does the 2720qm step? Example: (on max turbo limits(stock bclk)) Here is how it goes. Start Wprime1024 Turbo = 26x00 = 2594mhz Lasts for 3 minutes or 180seconds. Turbo = 25.54 = 2548mhz Lasts for the remainder of wprime. Forgot my normal total score. Point is when I need 8 threads for a game like bfbc2, it never goes below a 25 multiplier and most of the time stays at 26. How does your 2720qm perform? Thanks!

  9. Well, there's really no reason for any CPU or GPU to exceed 85C if it has a proper cooling system. Most CPU's and GPU's these days have a 95C to 105C Tmax, and getting within 20C of that is cause for alarm.

  10. They probably wont notice.. As mentioned before just put the machine as close to stock as possible. A lot of times (what i noticed on mine) the heatsync were not as tight (stock) as they should be. That alone my have saved my a few degrees but then putting on the shin etsu helped a bit as well.
