  2. Depends on your temps, can you do what Stam said (wprime 1.55 1024M test on 8 threads) and tell us the temps? Your CPU is probably running too hot, which results in throttling.

  3. Yeah, I already thought about buying them all and selling them at NBR for $100/piece

  5. Yep. I would buy it because I'm a bencher, and I couldn't live with knowing that it was only $100 more for those extra points.... I don't know anything about programming sorry, and my fairly extreme taste for hardware may be tainting my judgement here - IMO the 555 will be totally outdated in ~18 months anyway, my insatiable need for power would have me upgrade it long before that. Steven makes a good point in the shoutbox, both with the BFBC2 numbers and in that we can't tell you what to buy, just give you the facts - and in my case a bunch of random thoughts for you to disagree with/laugh at.

  8. There is a trick to get "free psu 300w from dell" but its kinda evil. do it at your own risk! First , ask for a replacement(with your own reason.) When they gave you replacement , you may keep current psu and replacement psu , then sent back the machine. Well , I got 2 psu , they said I can keep it. Just personal experience.

  9. AMD after mw86 helpfully reminded me that the integrated adds heat to the CPU.

  10. Managed to get my CPu score up to 18647 up from 18399 without doing anything. BCLK was still at 106 and I practically turned of every process apart from my antivirus. Other than the PU increase, GPU score was around 18025 even though the clocks were a smidgen higher. I think my CPU is the bottle neck. I did a test and I allowed 8 pre-rendered frames by the CPU which meant that the GPU was always fed enough information if the CPU wasn't the bottleneck. Both GPU scores were the same despite different clocks so it is my guess that with a higher CPU, I may be able to get a better GPU score as well. Also for fun, I left my laptop off for a few hours and for the components to cool to room temperature, which was around 19C (yes I live in a cold place). Then as soon as my laptop booted, I whacked the fans on full to maintain a cold heatsink throughout. My max temp for my GPU was 63C!
