Michael Waid
I want to upgrade my cpu and GPU on this laptop so that I can squeeze all the speed that I can out of it.My questions are. What is the maximum cpu that can go in it? Im currently on the 2670qm and I believe it can go to the 2960XM but im not sure.Im not sure what the max GPU I could go to is but I would like to go something ATI. What is the best card I could put in here and how would I modify its heatsink to fit?I dont mind doing the work to modify:) Also has anyone gone to 32 gb of ram yet in this laptop? I want to because the ram is cheap right now so why not.I also need to download the modified bios for this but I dont have enough posts yet. I think I need just three more after this one. Xonar
CPU: 2960XM is the best, 2860QM is probably the best bang-for-buck CPU.GPU: AMD 7970M (non-enduro) with modified heatsink is the best GPU upgrade for your notebook. RAM: No clue, only tried 16GB.Note: If you don't already, get a 180W or better PSU. You can download any file on here because you are a premium member. If you have any issues, let @Brian know. omega939
@Xonarwill an nvidia gtx670m work on this nb? or do i need to downograde the vbios to 570m?
Xonar
@omega939, I have answered your question weeks ago here: http://forum.techinferno.com/msi/2511-msi-gt683-nvidia-675m-%3D-true.html#post36776Yes, it should. 670M = 570M = Fermi high-end without Optimus. People have flashed their 570M to 670M for fun and it worked. I might depend on which vendor vBIOS you have to flash though (I think it's Dell that you want, but do your research first).
