Hi, So I've landed here to get some help with unlocking my old laptop. I must confess I've done few mods before, but it was on PCs, so was a piece of cake - adding Xeon to supported CPU models, or updating OROM to get a system boot from RAID SSDs. But now I'm trying do "the same" with laptop first time and this is a nightmare, mostly due to multiple BIOS vendors/methods, each of which requires own tools, some works with older revisions, some don't, some require 32-bits, some don't, and all YT examples being done using various configs = so in the end: a mayhem. My laptop config is: Lenovo B570e, i5-2520M, 10GB RAM BIOS: 44CN43WW (latest, unmodified), SMBIOS 2.6 Phoenix/EFI SLIC Mod indicates it is an EFI/Insyde BIOS, but entering the BIOS I've got "Phoenix SecureCore Tiano" info WLAN: original damaged, a replacement (by chip) doesn't allow laptop to start - Error 104 Unsupported wireless network device... All I've found so far was: * Universal BIOS Backup Toolkit 2.0 - to make a BIOS dump file (succees) * UEFI Tool - to load dump file, search required module and extract it (success) * WinHex - to search an assembler code boundaries, and extract it (WinHex will not save edits = unregistered version), so semi-success * Hex Editor Neo - to disassembly code, and probably make changes (so far: in progress:)) And I've stopped at searching the JZ/JNZ mnemonics, probably this is because I've got wrong code boundary (from WinHex), which gives improper disassembled program in preview pane. What I'm looking for is a loop, which I try to obey - regarding to some "popular" links describing this method (unfortunately I can't follow these instructions 1:1 as some programs don't work as supposed and crash - like WinHex, yup, some don't work at all and I need to use different tool). One more frustrating thing is I can't find proper tool for final stage - which is good (working) flasher. I can't remember how I've reflashed BIOS previously - must have been years ago - but now PhoenixUEFIWinFlash makes a BSOD (original, executable BIOS downloaded from Lenovo support website uses this program, which shows its GUI for a moment and makes BSOD), and "external", latest Phoenix UEFI WinFlash program doesn't want to work properly at setting up stage. Probably I will have to use phlash16 and FreeDOS, but will see at the end, when I have modded BIOS completed. Any suggestions (or even better - some ready, modded file), please ? Hello, I have several Lenovo L530 notebooks, but there is no wi-fi adapter inside. I tried to use my wi-fi adapters, but whti every adapter I have an error "1802 unauthorized network card is plugged in". I have already used all available wi-fi adapters, but no result. Hi, I am looking to remove the bios wifi whitelist restriction for a Lenovo G700 version 7ACN89WW . This is version 3.07 I have used a programmer to read direclly from bios chip but it has failed. Is there any other method available to remove bios restriction from this laptop?

Hello everyone! I am looking for an answer to a problem I cannot find a solution to ... I purchased an Amd wx 4150 MXM GPU module su e bay to upgrade my HP 8570W Mobile Workstation which is currently equipped with a Fire Pro M4000. Once the new GPU has been installed, the PC screen no longer turns on but works only with external monitors connected via the docking station. The same happens once the drivers are updated! If I put the old card back on, the integrated monitor starts working again ... How can I fix it?

Hello guys ... i wanna make sure that everything is going to work fine with my laptop so i got some questions First of all my laptop is Lenovo Z51-70 CPU: I5-5200U 2.2ghz iGPU Intel HD 5500 dGPU:AMD R9 M375 Ram: 8GB (will raise it to 16GB) HDD: 1TB stock one SSD: 120GB (for my games and windows only) now i investigated a little about eGPUs and found that i need a M.2 or thunderbolt, i've found that my wifi card use a M.2 a/e key aka ngff, so i will be using the GDC Beast NGFF version to the bad part / question part What do i need to know other than the stuff above? what is the white-listing thing? i found on support forums that my laptop support some wifi cards only and it's bios cann't be modified according to bios modifying forums (not here) in same time saw some posts on reddit that says if ur bios have UMA graphic option then you will need to disable PAX / WIRELESS and enable UMA and it will work fine, the question is that true? i wasn't able to find anyone who did it on Z51-70 i found only 1 post on reddit for Z41-70 (which after research found that both are using same M.2 a/e key slot and also same bios... but the one who posted only replied that it's recognized with some errors and never replied back with any updates so still not sure about it.....

Hello! I have a Lenovo Y50 with a shitty Wifi-Card and i wanted to unlock the BIOS, so i can replace it with a better one! Now I saw there are Instructions for the Y500 but none for the Y50! Is there a possibility for me to unlock it on my own, or do I have to rely on other Users on this Forum, who know how to do it? Greatly appriciate any help regarding that matter :/. My BIOS is on V1.13 by the way.
