Has anyone tried this using an Alienware M18x? I've just stumbled upon it, I have a spare PSU and 7970 in the house and am extremely curious.

Can any of you guys get anywhere close to this using 680ms? My 680m sli can handle it on high but as soon as I push past that the frame-rate takes too much of a hit

I bought mine from the bay last week for about £35. Thanks to Mr Fox's excellent youtube teardown video (a huge thanks mate) I took my 1 day old Alienware apart to fit it, repaste the CPU and GPUs, and install my memory and SSD. It's running like a beast now. Stupidly, I didn't check the temps pre installing the new heatsink but never mind, I'm really happy anyway!

Evening all, I really just wanted to say a quick thank you to SVL7 for all of his hard work. I've got my 680m's running along pretty daaarn nicely now. Using the voltage locked bios and afterburner my core is at 1ghz and my memory at 4.8! Really pleased!
