My keyboard is different and has the random character issue. It's silver colored on the backside.

Does the Y500 have a way to do a bios reset? I may or may not have been messing with my memory timings and can't start now.

The copper piping in those pictures look alot cleaner than the ones in mine. Mine look like they were dug up some where. They seem to be extremely tarnished.

I wanted to see the HDD activity light on my mSATA drive flash, but it's blocked by the plastic casing on the Y500. Probably could mod it, but that's a future endeavor.

Has anyone else had issues with your SSD running a little hot in this notebook? My Mushkin Atlas Deluxe seems to set off every temperature warning when just sitting idle. Also, I was wondering if there was anything that could be done to cool this thing off a tad.

Even if you adjust all of the Windows or nVidia drivers, the GPU still struggles on a battery. It doesn't seem to lower the clocks on anything though, so the battery may just not be powerful enough or allowed to fully power the 650m.

I definitely am going to change my bios. I contacted Lenovo support and asked why there was a whitelist on network cards for my Y500 and was told because my network card was incompatible with Windows 8. Yes, I'm going to trust a guy who told me that it was originally a driver issue, not the fact that the bios was blocking me from even attempting to access Windows.
