  1. I have the Newegg.com - lenovo IdeaPad Y580 (20994CU) Notebook Intel Core i7 3610QM(2.30GHz) 15.6" 6GB Memory DDR3 1600 750GB HDD 5400rpm DVD±R/RW NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M I upgraded to Windows 8 and used the modified 39 bios and the official 40 bios from Lenovo's driver website and they both allowed me to use my Killer NIC 1102/Atheros.
  2. Y580 owners that originally came with Windows 8. Are you able to enable secure boot in the bios? I am unable to find this feature on my laptop that came with Windows 7, but I upgraded to 8.
  3. Back up everything you need. Then Defrag, then use DBAN. Dban will format it and wipe all the information, if it gives you any error during the process and halts, that means there is a physical problem, if it formats and wipes the hard drive clean, the hard drive is okay.
  4. Nvidia for their driver quality and updates. AMD for their value.
  5. You guys should consider beating the first Hitman games. GOG has updated the compatibility of the first 2 games so you can run them on every Windows system currently out.
  6. Can you unlock the 5DCN40WW? I have the Y580 that came with oem Win 7. I want to use the bios in post #155, but I dont want to risk it if it's for Windows 8 machines. Drivers and software - IdeaPad Y580 Notebook
  7. I built my own 1st generation Fragbox using the FIC VL67 case back in 2003. I would still be using it to this day if I could upgrade the mobo
  8. Texas Chainsaw 1974 original. I prefer psychological scare like Silent Hill movie and it's games over modern gore and torture porn (saw, hostel, etc)
  9. I use a Razer Taipan with 400 DPI. I find that most games tend to be too sensitive so I had to keep the DPI low. I prefer ambidextrous design like the old Logitech G3, unfortunately Logitech has not made anything similar lately.
