Hey guys, I need some help with buying an new Alienware After all I spend into my M17x R2 (buyed used for 1300€) the price within upgraded Display and Processor stands now at 1825€ 2 Weeks ago I've transferred again 525€ (this were then 2325€ [2924$]for my M17x R2) for the new 7970m, but upgradeyourlaptop didn't response of my mail a week ago so I decided to cancel this order. Well, now I want to ask you what would be the best to get? Ive played over nearly 2 years with only an 4870m graphic card, so I don't must have the maximum details of every game. Which size? 14,1" or 17,3"? With my desired configuration I came with those prices: M14x r2: 1290€ (1623$) M17x r4: 1809€ (2275$) So are these 600€ really worth for MY claims? Before you scream: I have an 24" screen with ofc FHD (16:10) My actual games: F1 2011, Crysis 2, a little Battlefield 2, Dirt 3 and PES Love you all.. x)

Well.. I think i'm running the high price of the new 7970m away, because i just dont want to spend an half the price for only one graphic card. Even we don't know yet if it is working in M17x r2, but we can assume that this will work. Even the 1st and only Revision (after DELL bought Alienware) of the M15x can handle it, just with power issues. Well.. I will be waiting and currently I dont must need it.. drive by train less than 10 minutes, stay at home by parents and a LAN Party is maybe 3 times a year.

yes.. the current r3's at ebay germany is ~1700$ and only one. (i7 cpu) I decided to buy an used r1 or r2, cause even with the dell outlet store, the price average stay around 350$ !! Hm.. i think i grab that i7 just because the newer processor. And even, in the moment there are only r2's with i7 and two r1's.. Thank you all for recommending and helping!

Ok, i've got another Question about the 2nd Revision: With i7, you can even overclock the bus speed from 133 to max 166Mhz. This would mean you can go up to 2,8 Ghz in turbo mode. (Is this then 2x 2,8 or only at 1 core?) While at core 2 duo cpu (r1) you can pinmod up to 2ghz.. And then.. Throttlestop: Should/ must I use this? I mean: Do the clocks stay anytime at 2,8ghz?

Thats the reason i wouldn't spend too much money in a 2nd Notebook and even I found more r1 and r2 where I can save up too 300$ instead of an r3. I am very interested about an M11x, but dont know which one to decide. I'm playing Games like Battlefield, Assassins Creed, Soccer and mostly Trackmania United/ Canyon 2. I've read tests and compared about the 1st and the 3rd Revision, well: Core 2 Duo against "i7" sandybridge.. i don't think that theres so much performance differences, even you can overclock. The better GPU made me want to buy the R3 - but for which price it is worth? Ive seen M11x r1 who go out for 450$, how many should i spend for the R3? How much is it worth? (I noticed the 3rd has Gigabit LAN instead of 100mb/s, would be there HUGE up-& download differences at 50k Connection?) Also whats with the Hinge at R3? More Solid/ Robust than r1? Youre right. Its an english forum and im Sorry for that. Okay: I exactly did what you said.. but its weird! When i set it to "5.1" in IDT Software, only sound from the 2 Front ones. Tested with Zune.* But with forcing to "Headphones" i have Sound, except the Center. Frustrating INCOMING!! You said something about that Microphone Input, or? Else: Why I cant change it to.. Headphones or something? E: *I mean: With "5.1" in the Speaker Configuration i tested a Song with Zune and only this 2 Front Speaker were playing. In this "Speaker testing" in the Software, except the Center everything sounds. How can i force it?

Lets talk German! Also: Ich würde des ja gern mit der Controlstation 2 verbinden. Von der Controlstation aus müssen welche Kabel in welche Buchse wohin verleitet werden? Von 5.1 Out in den Subwoofer, oder von Aux 1/2/3 in den Subwoofer? Zur verfügung hab ich hier 3x Weiß/ Rot zu Weiß/ Rot, 3x Weiß/ Rot zu 3,5mm Klinke und 1x 3,5mm Klinke zu 3,5mm Klinke. Edit: Mit direktem Anschluss von R/ W zu 3,5mm in den 3 Laptopanschlüssen und automatischer Erkennung der IDT Software kommt kein Ton raus. Erst wenn ich die Buchsen neu definiere und zwar ALLE zu normalen Kopfhörern hab ich außer dem Center Satteliten Sound. 4.1 System, super.. Interessiere mich trotzdem wie ich das nun mit der Controlstation 2 angeschlossen bekomme.

Uff.. what i can see behind that Panel where the Camera should be? Yes, i haven't a camera in that used-new Panel, but could use that from my old Panel, Luckily. 10 Minutes screw on inclusive the Panel. 5 Minutes screw up and on the Camera. Now: WTF?! 1h JUST for screwing on that Panel with set up the Display in that Holes. But done Just seeing nothing at my Laptop.. the cable^^ Soo frustrating. Yep, and that's it. I don't have "Integrated Camera", but an "Unknown Device" which has this yellow Error/ Warning plate. Or maybe i didnt plug this cable in? I seriously don't know it. I mean for that Display i just plugged 1 cable in.

Good evening to the new one, mav In advance i'd like to say that i wasn't the best in english at school, but euhh.. my english teacher wasn't a person were I'd like to learn english if you know what I mean It was a long time ago that i upgraded the Display for my Alienware Laptop. All i know was: Before i had shitty 900p Resolution and i was able to get a good-used 1200p Display which was made for M17x R1 (so no RGB, the offer at DELL was about 600€, wtf?) So buyed, incorporated and i see that Alienware Head at boot up-> It works! Up to these Aliensense "camera login", the small Box where my Head should be in it is black. In my Device Manager theres also an "unknown Device" which i activated manually therefore with this "fascap, FastAccess Video Capture" -> Nothing changes. Windows couldnt find the drivers. I'ts Errorcode 28. Someone know's the Solution? It would be glad to hear! Much greetz, mav Was my english this bad?
