  1. Isn't that a kepler card? AFAIK it doesn't support kepler.
  2. I think the gtx 675m would be the best possible with unmodified/stock heatsink. I dony think anyone have had success with the kepler ones.
  3. tried ctrl+fn+pgup and ctrl+shift+numpad 7 and ctrl+shift, I burned a dvd with the bios file named AMIBOOT.ROM but no success.
  4. It's weird though, the dvd starts reading when I insert a disc.
  5. Flashing to gt685 bios wont help you because it's the same bios as the gt683.
  6. Yeah I fear the bootblock is f**ked up, I will never ever flash BIOS after a few beers again ;D
  7. I bought a hot air station and lots of kapton tape so I will try this when i hve time
  8. I ordered a new chip but I will try again, it seems like the boot block isnt messed up because when I insert a dvd it starts reading it. So I'm gonna pull out the RAM, ssd and hdd and keyboard to make it search for boot block fix which is the BIOS on a dvd.
  9. I made a really sloppy mistake.. I modified a gt663r bios for a friend and accidently left it on my usb pendrive. I had a batch file named flash.bat(for the modded gt663r one) and I put my bios file and afudos and my batch file which I always use (flassh.bat)for my system on the pen drive. So I was thinking of selling my sýstem to buy a gt60 so I figured I reflash it to the unmoded BIOS when I accidently in DOS wrote flash instead of flaash.. Now my system wont boot, I've tried the backup routine posted by @Xonar but with no success.. The pendrive doesn't even light up. Any suggestion would be much appreciated
  10. It should be located under the toch panel. And yes they are replaceable but the ABGN cards are usually longer and won't fit so you'll need to find one that is the same size as the wifi card. And most of them are 3 antenna cards so you will also need to install a 3rd antenna.
  11. It should work with the heatsink for gtx 570m, I don't think the bios will be a problem, and the dell vbios should work fine. But you'll probably need modified nvidia drivers which you can find at LaptopVideo2Go: NVIDIA & Laptop News If you don't have the heatsink for gtx 570m you probably have to file yours down with a dremel tool to fit. Good luck!
  12. Well there is a mPCI-e slot for the wifi adapter but I don't know what the speed is.
  13. This method did NOT work, because the EC wont allow OS to boot so you'll need to reflash BIOS.
  14. It's 6 series hm67 chipset, but yeah I might as well give up on this.. What I hoped to accomplish was to change my current fw and enable the extension bios and then flash with the enef in DOS.
  15. I've been looking into this for a while, right now I've reached a dead end because I can't open my original ME FW in FITC to see the oem uuid to be able to flash an unlocked one. It has an .424 file extension but I can't even open it when changing extensions to .bin .rom or whatever. I've been able to make a backup of my current ec fw in dos but this file is also encrypted of some sort. When I change it to .bin and open it from FITC then it reports "unrecognized bin format". If I can edit the file in some way I would in theory be able to access the mbex.
  16. you can not oc the memory. You can't oc the cpu unless you have a XM version.
  17. The maximum memory speed on the gt683dx with i5 is 1333mhz, if you get an i7 its 1600mhz
  18. @Xonar You dont happen to know how to convert a .424 file into .bin? I've been searching my a** off.
  19. That's certainly interesting, I really hope it's not a dead end. I will look in to this just a bit more before I give up but first i need 12hours of sleep before I get hallucinations ;D *edit* From what I've read you wont have to modify and flash the ME fw if I get this to work.
  20. I've unlocked a lot of different features on my gt683dx that I couldn't see with the gt680/gt683 bios, I've been up for 34 hours looking for a way to access the mebx menu and now I'm trying to find a string in the bios where I can enable or find the key combo to enter the mebx which is integrated in the chipset, if this is possible I should be able to edit the me firmware too see if there's anything of interest in there. What I've learned is that dell uses ctrl+p, and others use ctrl+alt+f1 in post to access the mebx and the default password should be admin to gain entry to the management engine interface. Most other oem uses there own key combination I don't know if this is possible but I sure hope i might find a way around this.
  21. I really don't understand why he wants me to use his bios :S feels kind of creepy, it's like he wants to molest my computer.
  22. No, it will most certainly brick your laptop.
