Clevo with 880m SLI. Temps hover at 70 IDLE. Is this normal ?
madmaxgamer replied to madmaxgamer's topic in Clevo
Repasted CPU, and both GPUs with ARCTIC SILVER 5, changed the GPU thermal pads to the best i could find, some 7 Watt ones. Cleaned all the dust too. BIG change... they now hover at around 30-50 idle, and only max out at 70 and rarely 80 at full load. Highly recommend doing this. -
Nvidia GTX 1080m Speculation
madmaxgamer replied to Khenglish's topic in General Notebook Discussions
Im thinking of getting those laptops with desktop GPUs in them. Especially if they every are insane enough to make a sli version, which would be truly... insane. -
What about adding fans to the bottom ?

It would be nice, Nvidia is running amok in the mobile market doing whatever they want. AMD needs to keep them in check.

Laptops with a Desktop GTX 980 SLI
madmaxgamer replied to Dr. AMK's topic in General Notebook Discussions
I dont get why they are still trying to make them slim. When going for maximum performance, thats the last thing on anyones mind. I would get one even if it were twice as thick. -
Yeah, so as the title says, they hover at around 70, and the second one at 64, as im writing this. Fans blasting pretty hard. I have the laptop 2 years now, keep it clean, no dust on the fans and heat pipes. Am i supposed to add some paste to the heatsink, or should i not even touch that ? Also, if this is normal, anything i can do to cool it ? Also, would those modified Vbioses help in anywyay ? performance wise. Or do they just unlock the overclock ?

You need to make 5 posts tbguy. Also, does the 880m vbios work for clevo as well ? Cause it says MSI 880m.
