  1. Beware of the update. I just updated my R2 with 980m SLI and I can't play any game. Video games and videos run slow. Nvidia control pannel crashes and I'm not able to change any settings.
  2. Quick update on my experience: Been using newest 364.72 drivers and have had no issues, BSODS, crashes, and 0 THROTTLING for about a month now. Thanks @J95 again for making it possible
  3. As I stated above. I'm currently running Win 10 and newest drivers using 980m SLI and have no problems whatsoever. Not one BSOD and crash. EVERYTHING works. Let me know if you need any help getting yours to work.
  4. Have you fixed your problem? I've read somewhere that Win10 fixed some of those issues. I'm running a 5930k and have no problems on win10.
  5. I'm rocking 980m SLI and it's almost as fast as my desktop with running on two 980gtx
  6. Just to follow up on your post. I am running dual 980m on my mx18r2 and so far so good. 0 problems on windows 10.
  7. I installed Win10 about a week ago and no problems so far. I am on drivers 364.72 and have 0 problems. No throttling and so far my LCD is safe. M18r2 with dual 980m
  8. Totally worth it with the new drivers. I'm running SLI and 0 problems.
  9. @haXBOXpro I just upgraded to win 10 using J95's modded drivers. These ones to be exact. GeForce 364.72 Win10 and nv_dispi.inf_v364.72_Win10_PEG_Dedicated.zip The way I did it was: -Uninstall gpu drivers via device manager and disabled -flashed prema v2 bios -upgraded via windows update -installed GeForce 364.72 Win10 and nv_dispi.inf_v364.72_Win10_PEG_Dedicated.zip You can find detailed instructions from J95 here (last post): https://www.techinferno.com/index.php?/forums/topic/4906-alienware-aftermarket-upgrades-driver-support-modded-inf/&page=46 Everything worked great at that point, but I wanted to start with a clean install, so I went ahead and formatted via USB win10 installation. Installed all the drivers from the Dell support site for win8.1 and reinstalled GPU drivers mentioned above. I've played a few games for 20+ minutes and have 0 throttling. Hope it works for you! Specs: Alienware M18x R2 GPU: 980m SLI CPU: 3920xm RAM: 32gb SSD: Sandisk Extreme Pro
  10. @J95 Thanks for your reply. I wen't ahead and upgrade to windows 10 via windows update and tried to install again and it worked! I played a few games and had no throttling! I formatted this morning and did a clean install and everything has worked so far. All drivers installed, I've gotten no crashes, no BSOD and more importantly NO THROTTLING. I played a few rounds of Bf4, DoTA2, and some GTAv and my fps stayed consistent at all times... For anyone interested I installed GeForce 364.72 Win10 and nv_dispi.inf_v364.72_Win10_PEG_Dedicated.zip and my specs: Alienware M18x R2 GPU: 980m SLI CPU: 3920xm RAM: 32gb SSD: Sandisk Extreme Pro J95, thank you so much! 11. Hello all! Fresh meat <------ I've been using driver 353 with minimal throttling, but just a few days ago the mouse started freezing every 2 seconds on cold boot. I checked event viewer and it showed the culprit was the Nvidia driver. Before finding out the reason, I did try several ways to fix the problem, such as reinstalling touchpad drivers, disabling the power saving feature on the usb hub root. As mentioned above everything happened on cold boot. After a few restarts the problem was gone. Again, after checking event viewer I noticed the nvidia driver was the problem all along. I decided to uninstall doing the following method (per J95's post): -Booted into safe mode using DDU -Did following command in CMD bcdedit /set {default} bootmenupolicy legacy -used DDU to clean drivers and shut down -F8 did nothing to try to disabled driver signature -Booted into desktop and used advance startup to disable driver siganture -Booted back into desktop and extracted drivers 365.72 leaving only the folders J95 instruted to leave in his post -Replaced files nv_dispi.inf_v364.72_Win7_8.1_PEG_Dedicated.zip -Ran setup and driver failed -Repeated and same problem I did flash Premas V2's vBios before trying to upgrade drivers. Specs: Alienware M18x R2 GPU: 980m SLI CPU: 3920xm RAM: 32gb SSD: Sandisk Extreme Pro Thanks in advance!
