  1. Overvolting does not harm as long as temperatures are not dangerously high. At the first sign of artifacts/screen flickering or tearing/temperatures out of the roof, means that you are pumping too much juice. You should first try to OC without overvolting and see what results you get and only afterwards worry about OV.
  2. Xonar, That's an amazing thing what you are doing with the BIOS. I just flashed the corresponding file and I must say, I need to first understand the many new options available, before I start tinkering with them. I don't know what 90% of the options mean... Is there any setting that can aid me in lowering the temperatures?
  3. Asus G5x and G7x series draw air from the keyboard area; actually from somewhere near the lid, but I didn't notice this at the MSI.
  4. Since the GT683 is similar in design to the GT60, does this mean that the GT683 also draws air from the keyboard area?
  5. I'm using a Logitech g700 with god knows what DPI. I remember when I bought it that I installed their software, tinkered with the mouse as much as I could and saved the profiles. Ever since I haven't messed with the profiles (stored on the mouse) nor do I reinstall the software when needed (OS reinstall or other PC). I don't use a mousepad as the laptop works on utterly every surface I have placed it on. (Though I do have 2 pads in my backpack - a Steelseries QcK and AW Pad)
  6. It's just a mindset, if I see the screen clear it's like my mind knows I'm done.
  7. I prefer nVidia for most situations, due to their better driver support and general "behavior". In the past I have had horrible experiences with AMD card, due to drivers - it all started with an AW that had 4870 XFIRE. For this particular case I opted for the AMD 7970m as it provides equal levels of performance to their nVidia counterpart at half the price. And also 680m is not compatible in my current laptop.
  8. I don't think there's a command to restart from dos. After clearing all operations in a DOS/cmd prompt type of app, I do a cls command, to clear the screen and then simply press the power button to shutdown , or ctrl+alt+del to reboot.
  9. Hello everybody. Xonar, regarding the GT683DX, The 30Z bios is the OEM bios for the raid sku , right? I'm guessing it's not a problem to flash it to a GT683DX (non raid sku).
